UK Election Tracking Thread

The Lib Dems certainly seem least worst, but the fact that they don't have much clout and they don't have a hope of getting into power in the near future complicates things.

Yeah, see this is a self fulfilling prophecy, and is everything that is wrong with democracy.

The party eveyone seems to want in cant get in merely because voters believe that they wont get in, and that their vote will have gone to waste. If everyone voted properly things would be different (although im not suggesting materially different, Tories do have alot of support).
 
Part of the problem is the first past the post system. What, only 25% of the electorate voted for Labour (can't remember the exact figure but its something like that), but they have 54% of Parliamentary seats. Hardly proportional representation.
Although it could be argued by letting the winning party form a majority more easily, they can make decisions effectively, without being hindered too much.
 
Decision making should be hindered, so the decisions wouldn't be so stupid.
