I don't see why it's impossible for massive creatures to live deep in the abyss. Of course, this would also mean that they either have a slow reproduction rate or their food resource have very high reproduction rate.

We know very little about the deep ocean and there are several species being discovered each year as pressure resistant tech gets better. Ocean floor vents are an energy source more than capable of sustaining life, I bet there are some huge creepy ****ers we have yet to photograph. I can't wait!
