Unofficial HL2.net BC2 server

I was hoping I'd find it by searching HL2.net... but that will only be testable when I can actually see servers.

On the right of the server browser you should be able to see a Search by Name box, in that type HL2.net Server. I tried searching for it last night with that method and couldn't find it. Couldn't even find my server for that matter :|
 
I'll hop on during lunch in an hour. I'll give my feedback on the server finding and what not.

Me and BMan were able to play for a bit and it ran really smoothly. I didn't play for long though because I was getting my ass kicked on hardcore mode because I didnt know the map, and I was out numbered. Once Bman left it was me and one afk guy vs 4 dudes, and I just got spawn camped.
 
For those who can't find the server by searching (which I can't either) its best to sort the servers by name, then scroll to the H's and find HL2.net Server.

When is a good night to get everybody on the server for an inaugural game. Unfortunately, I'll be out of town this weekend but that doesn't stop everyone else. I'll leave RCON to one person so they can take care of stuff.

every time i check the server it's 0/32...whats prime time to join? being on the east coast id assume 9pm would be a reliable time.
 
You could just join and wait for people to some in. When I joined the server to test it out, Bman joined me, and then several people joined quickly after.
 
Server is working great. We had it full and it was running with no problems whatsoever. Had a bunch of .netters on, brick, bman, escape and someone else I think. Good fun.

And what I said about just joining and waiting a bit, worked. Me and my brother joined the server by ourselves and just messed around while waiting, then someone else came in, then brick, and then in a few minutes we had a full game going.

sort server names then you should be able to find it.

If you're trying to join by searching for it I don't think it works. Best thing to do like unozero said is to sort by server name, then scroll down to the H's. After you join it'll be in your history.

Right click - add to favorhits.

Tried this, but it was nowhere to be found :(

Going to try again now.
 
how long is the average wait for the server list to refresh? Mine takes a good 1-2 minutes sometimes...sometimes less.

Same with me, but you can hit cancel after about 5 seconds and it will still show a good amount of servers.
 
I just had a game in the server, and my god it was fun. We kicked ass, HL2net. We should consider making a 16 player clan.
 
Something weird happed halfway through our game. Almost everyone lost connection, except for a handful of people, like Bman I think. After everyone rejoined though it was fine for a couple hours.

No, we agreed to put in tiny shares in, not paying the whole thing. :P Is there a way we can view the total at the moment? Also we need more admins. *Yeah if you want to support the HL2.net community, just pitch in $5 at least. If 8 people do this, we got a server going every month.

I am guessing green account balance means it is in the plus, since it was 20 dollar before I donated and it's now 40.

And I know we were going to pitch in small amounts, but sorting stuff like that always takes some time. This way we won't have to worry about money for another 3 or 4 weeks, plus the financial burden isn't entirely on Escaep and Krynn.
 
Just received a PM from Escape. Krynn and I are admins of the HL2.net server as well now. I still have to install the software for it, but after that I should be able to help out with stuff if needed.

Whatever it says in the account balance is how much I've received for donations. "-" green amounts are good.
 
It's been full everytime I've looked at it since we were all playing on Friday. Maybe I'll get on today. Good to see it's popular though and not just us running around being lame. Probably because it's a Rush and not Hardcore because Hardcore is terrible.

It basically times out every time so I have to find the server each time I refresh.

Nope... I just have to cancel the first load and do a refresh and it works after a few seconds. The first load will sit forever.
 
Nvm, i figured it out. You have to run a full search first then filter the name out. Rather stupid but i found it.

I'm pretty sure the search function doesn't work at all. The easiest way to find it if you've never played on it is to sort the servers by name (click the name box at the top) then scroll to the H's. But if you've played on it before it should be under your history tab.
 
I guess I should donate sometime soon... I'm being lazy...
 
wait, wtf is a mumble server? If it's voice, no need. If the in game voice fails *which it's worked all night, oddly...* then steam will work. Put it towards the server :)
 
So what's with the change to conquest? RUSH MAPS AGAIN PLX! Conquest is for lame jerks.

Conquest isn't terrible, it's just not as fun as rush. Rush maps are better too. We should do squad rush (don't even know what it is) or squad deathmatch. I guess I could just go to a server and try it out but I'm not motivated to be cool like that. Maybe that can be my goal for the weekend.

The bad thing about setting it to Squad Deathmatch is that it limits the server to 16 slots even though we're paying for a 32 slot server. IIRC, Squad Rush is only 8 players max.
