Is it worth getting? I was thinking about buying it. Alot of people said it was really good, others said it was really bad. Opinions?

dont. better get it for less than a dollar if you do want it.

spend your money on Unreal Tournament 2004.

you want reasons?
Good eye candy. Bad gameplay.

Great graphics, decent plotline, decent gameplay. Not an extraordinary game, but it's worth playing.

I don't think it's worth full price, but if you can find it cheap then go for it. Fortunately someone else bought it and I just used their disc, so I didn't have to pay for it.

The story of Unreal2 sucks but its a ok game not too bad, not too good.

:naughty: I heard it sucked majorly, well gameplay and story did.

The Multiplay Expansion, XMP, was a lot of fun, I heard.

It looks good...but don't expect anything else. The AI is unremarkable, and the gameplay consists of a lot of shooting, then moving to the next area, where you get to shoot more. They tried to fit some sort of plot around it, but it's not very good. If you really want to play it, find it either used (won't be to hard) or budget. Personally, I thought it was the most dissapointing game I played in 2003.

But damn, the graphics are amazing. This is the Unreal engine after all.

Unreal 2 is a polished turd. Everything bar the gfx is awful :/

Considering how much I loved the original, this was a great disappointment.

Not worth buying in my opinion. Like Chicken said, if you want an unreal game get U2K4

I found gameplay and graphics fine. It's the storyline that really pissed me off.

I tried the demo and it's sure to say that it sucks

I happily bought it. And I was not dissapointed with it, great old skool shooter. If you enjoy polished old skool shooters then you'll enjoy it. The base defending missions are particularly fun. Ooh and that living planet was good too.

I bought it for roughly AU$30. Not bad, for that price... it just reeked of stuff that had been cut, though... I think it came out prematurely.

Where were those Sea Warriors? Where were the N? Why did the part of the story with the Seagoat seem truncated and unfinished? And why did it have such a crappy ending? I mean, god damn, everyone you've become attatched to dies spontaneously, and then you don't even get to personally fight the guy who killed them. Sucktacular...

And that interesting black hole weapon made the game too easy, at the end...

Unreal 2 was nothing revolutionary, but to say it sucked is just bullshit. It was a decent FPS. Not to mention some really damn good graphics.

Nope, it was a bag of shite :)

At least it was better than FC. Not saying FC sucks, just that Unreal 2 had a nice sci-fi setting, and I like that a lot more than FC's BS storyline.

Unreal II makes you feel like slow shit because your character has some super powerful space cop suit and you seem to be 'walking' more than running/
But that's because if they had you sprinting, you'd beat the game in like 30 minutes.

It bored me. Its really good looking but it is linear, which = boring.

Am I the only one who loved Unreal II, with the exception of it being a tad too short.

I liked the hot chick in the spaceship. That's all I remember. :D

I enjoyed it very much - it's just a shame that the dev's promised so much, only to fall millions of miles short on what they promised leading people to hate it regardles. But what they did manage to include I thought was great.

So were you bored by Half-Life then?

I suspect it bored him to an early death.

If developers werent overly ambitious we would all be playing Atari's still. It's part of the game- I have come to expect way less then what is initially promised for a game. Unreal II lived up to being a fun game that came closer in the milestone that is feeling emmotions for FPS characters, Which I expect half-life 2 to revolutionize.

It was fun, a couple of the missions were annoying, but overall, I enjoyed it.

The ending was classic, but you don't get the full effect for the ending unless you spent the time getting to know the people on board the ship.

weapons were fun, gameplay was fun, story needed about 5 more hours of gameplay. as is, it can be beaten in a single sitting.

an avarage game. the first thing I notised was ---> shoot at a wall = no bullethole.

i liked u2 the game was nice looking and game play was just right.

take your time and enjoy it rather than running through it at light speed!!!!
;)

you can finish any game quickly if you run through it not caring about game play. :naughty:

I think they should have had more "defend the base" type missions. Usually I hate those but they were really well done in U2, with the ability to place laser walls and turrets. It almost had a bit of an RTS feel to it.

I liked it, it was fairly challenging and was the only game that let me spray liquid napalm onto someone, leave a trail and then ignite it.

There was some good team mate AI as well, models were fairly decent but the story was fairly crap, it jumped to too many conclusions and directions at once.

Most people has probably already said this but:
It was great graphics, and somewhat fun to play through, but the storyline (in the end) sucked. The game would have been much better if it didn't end the way it did, in my opinion.

get this game cause if u dont ill have to kill you...from my oppinion i give the game a 10/10 cause its loaded with insane graphics and great environment and lets not forget the weapons which are cool so just get the damn game haha and surprisingly it worked with my old tnt2 m64 ,the cougar version ne way just buy it

Wow, you're right. That makes it such a terrible game.

I agree, no bullet holes is forgivable. It's just the rest of the game that's shite ;)

The stroyline wasn't good, but the ending was great, and while the enemies(big spider bugs!!!) where stupid the weapons and graphics made up for it.
I'd give it 8/10

It just seemed too unfinished for me to enjoy too much. Like someone said earlier, there was supposed to be a bunch ofo ther things like the underwater place and a bunch of new aliens. Fighting those damn mercenaries got annoying after a while.

Funny, I actually enjoyed fighting the more intelligent humans but I found the Skaarj and all those other dumb aliens really tedious to battle. Graphically, this game rocks. Gameplay deserves nothing more than a shrug and the story?

Foh'getaboutit.

I loved that game, was extremely fun, good story and level design was insane. The gfx are great etc. A must have i would say.
