"Goddamnit. I shot him five times in the face with a rocket, and he's not dead?"
I wouldn't say the same for the original Unreal Tournament. The weapons in the first game are pretty much perfectly balanced (well, except the Sniper Rifle ). You all should try out Slave Master, very fun mutator which is easy to fall for.
They ****ed up the weapons in the later games though, not a single gun felt good. All were weak as hell thus making it feel like you're firing a pea shooter. The Rocket Launcher lacked the real power of the original and was crappy beyond all recognition. They screwed up the Flak Cannon's flak shell by reducing the alt-firing range making it close to useless. And their biggest mistake was to replace the Enforces with some completely and utterly craptacular Assault Rifle with one of the crappiest grenade launcher known by mankind.
Oh and yeah, the removal of the Impact Hammer and replacing it with a shield gun was completely unforgivable.
The only weapon I really liked was the Lightning Gun, getting headshots with it was pretty fun and rewarding.
Meh, even though I've never had interest in UT2003/2004 for more than a day or two I'm looking forward to try out Unreal Tournament 200… oh, sorry I mean Unreal Tournament III.
