Has been surprisingly fun to play over this spring break, and the Steam implementation is flawless + awesome. I do suggest now as a good time for coming back if you bought this at an earlier date. Epic has vastly improved the game and made a bunch of community suggested tweaks that make the game actually worth playing.

That and I need some real people to frag, bots are getting a bit silly. Anyone back into it? I'm getting flashbacks of ut99, it's marvelous.

I miss the Phobos Moon :( and a true facing worlds etc....

the one big reason i'm not gonna buy this game is because i still found myself having to LEAD shots even though i'm using supposed instant hit weapons, an issue i also had in 2k4.

bs!

Gay.
2k4 is muchmuchmuchmuchhhhhhmjujhg better.

I never bothered with ut3 because nothing could outshine 2k4. ****ing excellent game.. Sure, you needed twitchskills like an amphetamine addict, but once you reached that stage, it was so damn fun!

Isn't it 12$? I think I might pick it up before they raise the price on Steam again. It does look like an excellent game, but I've just heard it's so damn meh, but then again, I heard the Titan update brought MANY MANY MANYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY needed features and such.

I've not played a UT game since... the very first one for PS2.. So I don't recall how these games even play. :p

Can some one explain to me what the hell betrayal is? As far I can tell, it's just deathmatch where you occasionally can't shoot someone because they're glowing.

UT99/GOTY > UT2k4 by miles

I like UT3, haven't touched it in about a year though.

Plug the key into Steam and reinstall, let's tango bitch.

I love all the ut games for different reasons. They've all kind of formed their own identities. I feel closest to UT99 because it kicked things off, but was also by far the grittiest, most brutal and amazingly well rounded DM games ever. It has yet to be rivaled, even by Epic themselves.

I agree. When it comes to pure frenetic deathmatch, UT99 is unparalleled. Q3A comes close, so does 2k4 and a bunch of other shooters but none of them can stand up against the master.

Eh just picked it up. I'm a sucker for specials.

One of the worst games released in ages.

Has it got any decent total-conversion style maps yet? I keep looking on Epic's forums but they're mostly shitty ones that use all the assets from UT3.

I bought this back when it was released.

It looked amazing, and still retained that UT insane speed during fights.

Was always lacking something that UT2k4 just seemed to have.

Oh and the discs had worldwide problems when installing, the solution that worked for me eventually was a special kind of windows restart, install it then revert back to a normal windows start. Cant remember.

I am always disappointed by the post 99 releases of UT - probably because I was so enthralled and addicted to the original game back in the day.

The newer games are just nowhere near as fun, it's sounds crazy, but I genuinely think Epic have "consolified" the franchise. There was something about the crazy death matches of UT that had a PC like pace.

I loved the Campaign for UT3
I think it's a very good game

the campaign was like any other UT....play a tournament against box. that really disappointed me when there was no decent story i was expecting a much better then what Unreal 2 offered, but alas the trailers lied to me.
