Username History

Was playing Counter-Strike and suddenly got fed up with my old name (probably something like DragonLancer, knowing me at that age), so I changed it to WeirdHat for some reason I fail to recall. A few minutes later I decided that was stupid and BadHat sounded better, so I changed it again. A few more minutes after that I realised it was also an obscure reference to a cartoon I used to hate as a child. It was like missing two birds with one rather large cinder block.

The little hat-looking dealie in the middle is just for here, though. You guys are special.

you fail test.

aren't you going to tell us how you came up with the name test? You're probably the only one I always wondered why you picked that name.

were you just joining to get help with one thing, or to make one comment and just made a name really quickly and carelessly, thinking after your answer was resolved or after you made the comment you would never come back?

Did you think creating an account here would fail, hence the name test?

He's just testing you. He WANTED you to ask those questions.

I thought this too. That doesn't change the fact that I WANT him to tell me, so therefore I asked, just like he [may have] WANTED. hmhmhm.

From 'Do Androids dream of electric sheep': -

"Oh, this?" Kadayi said. "Interesting, isn't it?" He tugged it from his belt holster. "I got this on Mars."
"I thought I knew every handgun made," Rick said. "Even those manufactured at and for
use in the colonies."
"We made this ourselves," Kadayi said, beaming like a Slavic Santa, his ruddy face
inscribed with pride. "You like it? What is different about it, functionally, is ? here, take it."
He passed the gun over to Rick, who inspected it expertly, by way of years of experience.
"How does it differ functionally?" Rick asked. He couldn't tell.
"Press the trigger."
Aiming upward, out the window of the car, Rick squeezed the trigger of the weapon.
Nothing happened; no beam emerged. Puzzled, he turned to Kadayi.
"The triggering circuit," Kadayi said cheerfully, "isn't attached. It remains with me. You
see?" He opened his hand, revealed a tiny unit. "And I can also direct it, within certain limits.
Irrespective of where it's aimed."
"You're not Polokov, you're Kadayi," Rick said.
"Don't you mean that the other way around? You're a bit confused."
"I mean you're Polokov, the android; you're not from the Soviet police." Rick, with his toe,
pressed the emergency button on the floor of his car.
"Why won't my laser tube fire?" Kadayi-Polokov said, switching on and off the
miniaturized triggering and aiming device which he held in the palm of his hand.
"A sine wave," Rick said. "That phases out laser emanation and spreads the beam into
ordinary light."
"Then I'll have to break your pencil neck." The android dropped the device and, with a
snarl, grabbed with both hands for Rick's throat.

Yes I am a Replicant :naughty:

I didn't create this account, or asked for help (but some other guy did). This is some account probably created by Munro, or some other admin to test the forums. The username and password were both "test" (yes, I guessed them).

My name comes from when I was walking down some steps which a fellow student was ascending in the opposite direction. We both tried to avoid each other by shifting left or right, however this for some strange reason defying all statistical probability did not work quite right and the net effect was nil. By the time we were nearly face to face, I simply stuck out my hand signaling to stop him from moving any further and sidestepped to the other side of the stairs in a rather dramatic fashion. It was on this day that Avoidist was born, master of path maneuvering in slow crowds and looking like an absolute git.

hahaha, I knew there was something awesome to a username like test

I recognise sup3rsnail from somewhere. Also you can PM a superMod like Pi to have your forum username changed.

x50 suggestions of asking a mod to change it.

Done!
I feel like a new man, no longer bound to this mortal coil... of x's.

My xfire login name hasn't changed, and there's no x's in my displayed name so, no change needed.

No, I'm keeping them stored in ceramic jars inside a tomb in Egypt.

Koola Mena

means: "Calm/Cooler Waters" in south-west (nyoongar) australian aboriginal.

Riomhaire [ree-ver-ah] is Irish for computer. Or close to it. There is supposed to be an accent over the first i but the forum doesn't like that character any more.

I've went by a couple of names mainly karang or Mellish

Mellish is my second name and basically everyone calls me that at school.
Karang is derived from the Rock TV Channel Kerrang.

You didn't get nearly as annoyed as I had hoped.

From a swedish tv show called Parlamentet, where comedians pretend to be politicians. One of them answered a very important political question with the word "Ravioli", and my name was born. I use Strogg on other areas though, from Quake obviously. I used Armstrong way back, from No One Lives Forever.

Your name should be SAM-9000.

"I'm sorry Dave, I'm afraid I can't do that."

No. Gaelic is the Scots' language.

Gaelic in the U.S. often refers to Irish. It's the Irish dialect of Gaelic, he means. Most don't refer to the language as "Irish" round' these hur parts.

You edited between the time I read your post and the time I clicked to reply, you bastard!

I think Irish ands Scots Gaelic are generally considered to be seperate, though similar, languages rather than dialects of the same one. One thing I always found amusing though is that I could understand most of what the Celtic villagers say in Age of Empires 2 (who speak Scots Gaelic).

Facts about Irish:
The Irish for Irish is Gaeilge
There is no word in Irish for 'yes' or 'no', but people use the words t? (literally it is) and n?l (literally it isn't) to mean yes and no, respectively.
The word galore is derived from the Irish go leor, which is pronounced the same way and means the same thing.
To hit someone and to meet someone is the same verb in Irish.

That's awesome. My uni actually offers classes in Gaelic (Irish). Perhaps I'll try one next semester. Funny that you could understand the (probably improper) Scot Gaelic in AOE2. :D

And yeah I realized I didn't say what I was trying to say very clearly so I quickly edited, as I often do.

I said it because people (americans) are always calling Irish gaelic and generally Irish don't like it. I was doing it to piss him off.

Nick/Nicky is my name.
0123 is just something I added :|

Well, hopefully I pissed off someone, somewhere.
