Is anyone planning on getting this? I was, but I'm trying to figure out if there will be a big enough online community - UT2003 died a premature death.

Well, I made a perosnal mutator for UT2003. I map like a beast at UT2003. I also code in C++. I model, and suck at it. I also draw concept art and make storylines in school. More info about my HL2 mod will be released later this week in Valve years.

The mutator added a third person view, graphical changes, and other small stuff. Mapping like a beast is a good thing. And I feel special being sig quoted!

It's got vechicles mainstream now, plus supposedly voice-commands for bots (like voice recognition). I'd like to try that out. 3 gigs? pleh. 'tis nothing.

I'm definatly gettin it. Not a single Unreal game I havent gotten yet (Unreal and Half-Life fanboy). Unreal Championship doesnt count... its the same as UT2003. I havent been following UT2004's production very closely but by what I know its really lookin nice.

56K here as well, but thats OK. The online community in 99% of games stinks.

the other 1% I can play with 56K so it isn't a problem (Meaning I own ONE game where the online community is nice

I'm getting it! Already paid for on reserve The dvd special edition that is, which includes 24 brand spanking new 3dbuzz videos on how to properly code model map etc... I've mapped a little for ut2k3, the editor is real easy once you get the hand of it. I can't wait for 2k4 and the demo is supposed to be out before friday!!!!!!!!

I'm getting the demo first, so I can see how it runs on my comp.
In my opinion, UT2003 sucked compared to Unreal and Unreal Tournament. It just didn't have the same feeling as the old ones.
