The changes coming to the Counter-Strike: Source weapon and equipment economy are still underway, but we're not quite ready to announce exactly what we have planned. The scope of the change involves changing the prices of every item in the game—some more significantly than others. But that's just the beginning. We'll have more info on what's in store, soon.
;(

Great, look forward to the changes Valve chooses to implement :)

I'm glad.

They are making the game more interesting to play.

Nice one Valve ;)

Judging by Valve's track record, the update won't be good.

So they made two mistakes OMG WORST GAME COMPANY EVER LETS SAY THAT EVERY UPDATE IS GONNA SUCK BEFORE IT EVEN COMES OUT! YEAH GREAT LOGIC! I AGREE WITH YOU.
Piece of advice, before you down them, experiance the update. Even people constantly miserble like you might like it. :O

I hate people who criticise Valve for the CS updates. Look, the fvcking creator of CS can choose what he wants to do with it, not the fvcking idiotic community.

QFT. It's their game, and by buying it, you can never go back. MWHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Anyone else think that Valve should tell everyone exactly what they plan to change before they actually change it? I'm sure it'll be all good when it's released but I'm just curious as to why they would semi-keep the changes to themselves like this?

This sounds like a good thing. No doubt people will make server-side mods that revert the changes back, but I think overall, it'll work out for the better.

Just gotta change my buying routine now. I think they're going to make rifles like the AK and M4a1 more expensive xD

I suspect I'm not gonna like it, but I shall wait and see, perhaps Valve will surprise me (they have done before)

Yeah, not updating, real smart there buddy. :p

I was obviously making a joke out of it and notice how I didn't say anything besides the title (See above: joke) and the smiley, so where was I criticising it ? OH SNAP I WASN'T.

So, being slightly negative about 2 updates == constantly miserable ??

We can criticise them as much as we want, hell, we do it for every company just because it's almighty Valve doesn't mean we're not allowed to and just because good ole Gooseman thinks he is doing something for the CS players doesn't mean it's automatically good (Speaking of screwed up logic, hint hint).

I hate people who 'censor' words by changing a single letter (Whether to shield people or avoid the word being hidden/characters changed). ;)

You can't win, my posts are failsafe. : P

Hopefully HL2DM, DODS and other games will take off [soon] or this update won't suck. It probably won't matter, losing on pub is incredibly rare but if I ever [have to] start warring in CSS I could be annoyed.

I hope they make the auto-sniper extremely expensive :p

I don't, then all the n00bs will buy real guns and actually get good at css

/horror

Definitely looking forward to it. It's gonna change the gameplay and it will feel new again. And I bet it will change it for the better overall.

All you nay-sayers think CS is perfect just because it hasn't changed in a long time. You think it's perfect just because you are used to it. Of course you are angry at Valve for changing some things, but did you ever stop to think that it's for the better if you can just shut your mouth and try to get used to it or view it in a good light? You'll get used to it just like every other update in the history of CS, which was a long time ago and some people haven't experienced that but you'll just have to trust in it.

Looking forward to the changes. I'm sure they will be good. And I'm POSITIVE there will be LOTS of bitching.

what are most of you complaining about???? valve is probably one of the only companys that acctually adds content in every update and not just fix the problems. just be happy and play the DAMN game. also why would you want valve to release details??? i would rather be surprised.

Meh, CSS is crap anyway. If you want to dance with guns play CSS.
If you want a real tactical game play 1.6.

I can barely play 1.6 because of it's inferior engine as compared to Source.

Maybe if the animations weren't so crappy and jerky then I would probably play it...

How can you say that 1.6 is "a real tactical game" when Source is just a remake of the game and all it's maps?

And then you won't be able to play on a lot of servers.

Play with bots (trust me, I've found some bots better than others).
Seriously, go play 1.6 then. With the Condition Zero textures and High def pack.

Am I the only one that laughed at this?

No

Seriously, people who say 1.6 is better because it's tactically better are like old people who say, "Tsk, the music of today is just noise!".

Do you guys even bother to read posts ? Seriously, atomic and disturbed you need to brush up on your "read the posts in a thread before making a reply" skillz.

Sigh.
The difference between 1.6 and source is huge. They may look the same, but they play very differently. 1.6 has a greater learning curve, and more skill. It's more tactical, and has more players. Its the better game. If you want graphics, look outside.

Valve havent improved ONE aspect of source for competition play. Who regularly plays public after a year or two... They assume that everyone is a pub scrub, thats why the game wont attract any of the 1.6 / competition community.

www.cspromod.com Thats where its at.

Sigh.

So stick to 1.6

"pub scrub". Nice. Some people actually play for fun, you know.

You make it sound like a bad thing.

Problem solved then. Bye!

I agree, i was disappointed that Source was so very different, however theres no point crying over spilt milk, it's common knowledge now. I stick with 1.6, and there i will stay, and Source players will keep their game. Nothing has been taken away. :)

I read quite well, the way this thread sound is you are annoyed/pissed off about the changes, because if you weren't you probably wouldn't have made this thread. Instead of doing so go back to the "older" version of the game is still a possibility.

QFMFTAE.

uh yea.....sure the only reason people are good at a game is because they have played it for so long. i do terriblly when switching from css to cs 1.6 and vice versa. so you cant say a game is better or worse.

Well you can. Its just a matter of opinion. :D

I regularily play pub scrub after owning CSS since the beta. I have tried clanning, and personally found it incredibly boring. Pubs are great because it's people who play not always for winning. Met some good folks on pubs, and whenever I see them around we have a chat while just playing a game.

Pubs are there for the community. Competition is for the people who want to prove themselves. I say you go play 1.6 if you don't like source. VALVe may have made it for 'pub scrubbers'. In which case, you're not welcome. :p
