"As far as I know, Valve has no intentions of buying EA"
Priceless.
It is a stand-alone game that will provide an extra three hours of gameplay to the HL2: Episode 2 game package.
IGN: Since Portal takes place in the Half-Life universe, where in the timeline between the games does it reside?
Kim Swift: We will be announcing more about who you are and what you're doing at the Aperture Science Laboratories at a later date.
Only thing we didnt know.
We knew it was a few hours we knew the Gravity Gun feature (saw that in video) everything else was just meh. Valve interviews are leet but this new fish needs to get the Valve touch a little more. What do you say eh>?
Actually, we knew it would take place in the Half-life universe.
But I found the interview quite interesting, and she was obviously on a tight leesh not to reveal anymore details regarding the game. So no, I don't think she needs the Valve touch a little more.
Is that true? I was under the impression that they would only be cranking out a couple more episodes.... intent on publishing episodic content on a semi-regular basis with no end in sight.
They said only 3 episodes are planned, which is good, because then comes the inevatible Half-Life 3.
Ya i think 3 hours is prime for Portal. I was expecting like 1 hour max im getting 2 times my expectation.
Wouldn't that make your expectation 2 hours?

you actually got 3 times ur expectation
I thought some beta-tester guy said it was 5 hours long.
You mean Half-Life 4? The episodes technically are HL3. Read some interviews with Gabe.
Oh, and 3 hours is really nice, and then considering they will be releasing the SDK more than likely which will allow for some _awesome_ maps *drool*

However does HL2: Episode One make any sense considering they are not expansions. The first Episode, the first part of HL2 makes no sense because we already played the entire HL2.Sure..but they aren't titled as HL3: Episode One etc. So it would be weird to have HL2, then some expansion-like episodes, and then HL4
Yes. However, have you looked at the title of the game recently? It's HALF-LIFE 2: Episode One. It does not matter what Gabe wanted; it matters what he did. And what he did, along with the rest of Valve, was put the freaking words "half", "life", and "two" right there on the freaking box!
However he is god of HL and thus if he belives it to be the first episode of HL3 then it is no matter what the title says.Yes. However, have you looked at the title of the game recently? Whoever said there would be an HL4? Maybe HL4 will be split up into episodes...The name 'HL3' has to be reserved for the next true Half-Life game - simply because calling the next one "HL4" would be make no sense to consumers, and would make it look like there's an entire game gone missing from Valve's portfolio.
He kinda owns Valve..he can do whatever he wants with HL.Although the Episodes can't actually *be* HL3 now, whatever Gabe thinks.
