Vancouver Olympics 2010

Well, sounds like the Canadian Men's Hockey Team is putting Luongo in net for tomorrow. If he can step it up, we are far from done in this tournament.

I don't really think that women's hockey should be an Olympic game at this point. The whole thing is basically just a competition between Canada and the US, those are the only good teams. It's true, sometimes another team gets to the final against expectation (such as the Swedish team last Olympics), but those examples are just the exceptions that confirm the rule.

Damn. That US v. Swiss game was intense.

I find it sort of sad seeing that either Russia or Canada is going to get knocked out tonight. I was planning on seeing them dishing out against each other for the gold this year...

anyone watching the Canada vs Russia game?

great game so far..... GO CANADA!

Yeah, Canada is really lifted by the audience, it seems. Extraordinary play.

Germany is close in with the U.S.. First and seond respectively. Yesterday's update, not sure how the medal table looks now.

Stupid college dorm channels don't have the Canada v. Rus game... No MSNBC.

bring on Sweden!
Canada's goin all the way mark my words!!

Woo! Gold and Silver in women's doubles bobsleigh!

Also: LUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!

Is there any way or anywhere I can watch the events I want to without having to have recorded absolutely every bit of the jumble that was the NBC coverage of the olympics?

I want to watch all the curling for example... I've only managed to see one match. My first exposure to the game too... I thought it was pretty cool. At first I had no ****ing clue what the brushes were doing.

http://www.ctvolympics.ca/ <-- Live streams of everything, check the blue box on the right side (may be region locked to Canada, no guarantees).

Brushing makes the rock go faster NOW YOU KNOW LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL.

lol.

That's not the part that interested me... the fact that the bottoms were not flat and that the brushes could "curl"(CURLING GET IT? HAHAHAHA) the stones.

I'm not sure that's the problem. It tries to load the video then it just says it can't. It doesn't say anything about gtfo amerca.

Could be Silverlight then. What browser you got up in dat b?

I tried it with Chrome, IE, and FF. Same problem each time.

I could have told you that before. And I have told him before.

When I was watching that on TV, I thought it was her helmet that flew off, and I was horrified.

Watched the women's figure skating. I miss Michelle Kwan. Everyone now has boring performances, maybe because of the new scoring system. I saw a bunch of people do the same exact type of spiral (stretched out first, then a really awkward, slow grab-edge-of-skate move). The only one who was enjoyable to watch was Mirai Nagasu, who didn't medal. She at least seemed to be having a good time, and had pretty spins and nice choreography. Everyone else was pretty wooden. They actually look fine and relaxed off the ice, but not while performing.

The gold medal game in men's hockey between the US and Canada will start in 35 minutes. Who are you rooting for/think will win?

It's pretty even, but I'm gonna go with US; due to how they won in prelims. Honestly, Canada has a way better set of players then the US team. Though, the US players just play together really well.

It could go either way.

2-1 to the canucks after the second period. Very high-quality game, it's hard to keep track sometimes due to the game's speed. You can see that everyone involved is giving everything they got. The US seemed to dominate towards the end of the period, it's gonna be extremely interesting.

The Canucks are an NHL team. Might as well call them the Canadiens.

CANADA WINS **** YOU AMERICANS WOOOO!

It's also pretty sweet I called a 3-2 wins as well. We would've definitely won a 2-1 maybe 3-1 game if Canada didn't just try to keep it away during the last bits of the game, they should've went for it.

That was probably the best hockey game I've ever watched. Incredible.
