Hahaha, oh man, what great start to the closing ceremony!

A mime mechanic pulled up the arm of the cauldron that didn't go up in the opening ceremony, it was glorious.

This lady is not funny.

And a lot of that was in really bad taste.

She tried to tell jokes about Canada, as well as about having all the different countries here. She'd say stuff like: "We really will miss you...not!" or "Come back anytime, just not all at once!" and nobody would laugh.

And there was also a section with clips of people like falling or messing up and Canadians winning metals, with overdubs of apologies.

Also, other than K-OS, those music choices at the end were abysmal.

All in all, that was a terrible closing ceremony, except the russia bit, which was quite good.

I was at the canadian embassy watching the game. When they scored the golden goal the place just exploded with cheers.

Havent heard cheers like that since South Africa beat England and won the rugby world cup in '08. Lets just say that again. South Africa beat England and won the world cup. SA beat England. 2nd time in a row. And no, England didnt deserve to win.

The Canucks are an NHL team. Might as well call them the Canadiens.

Were the USA team made up of average players or something? Did their best NHL players not play?

/ignorant Eurofag.

The Americans had a fantastic team as well. In fact, their goaltender was probably the best one of the tournament.

USA apparently...

I don't think most people in the USA even gave a shit. Nobody I know watched the game, and not many even knew we were playing canada. Its funny how Canada flipped out after winning, and the US is just like "uh, I thought hockey died in the 90s"

Last time I knew anything about hockey was when the Hartford Whalers had a really good season. And they havent existed in over ten years.

I meant that the Canucks are literally an NHL team. It is the name of Vancouver's home team. The Canadiens are Montreal's NHL team.

PFFft. Southerners.

I guess Canada has one thing going for them. Other than that whole moose thing.

Hmm.

I havent lived here my whole life you know. I talk to people from several different states.

Most of the people who watched the game were Canadians. Reports say that 2 out of every 3 canadians tuned into the game at least once, meaning almost 25 million canadians watched. Then consider that viewers who watched the whole game totaled 10.3 million... its pretty reasonable to assume that most of those were canadians. I read somewhere (dont know how true it is though) that only 3% of the US watched.

Canadian fans may not have liked the outcome of Sunday's Canada-U.S. hockey game, but the Olympic broadcaster has something to celebrate: The game has become the most-watched sports program in Canadian history.
What?

Of course, those are the numbers of the Canadian broadcaster.

17,6% of US households watched
