This is a mean-spirited debate - it's on now, you can webcast at the new york times or see it on TV.

What do you think?
 
Edwards sounded british for a second there. :O
 
I'm watching it now. Cheney is keeping up the thing about Kerry's flop-flop attitude and Edwards is just blaming Bush. Cheneys cool because he just has this: "I'm gonna crush you" intimating thing going on and Edwards is jumping around like a giddy school girl.
 
they are so much smarter than the pres. candidates.

sounds like a lot of BS from cheney. He's being a real asshole too.
 
I think Cheney needs to be careful not to overstep his bounds in criticizing Kerry like he did a few weeks ago when he basically said we would be attacked again if Kerry were elected. There's criticism and then there's baseless scare tactics.

Cheney isn't doing nothing. Edwards is getting him just like kerry got bush. Cheney's gettin' pissed and repeating the same rhetoric. Edwards is laying out the plan and laying out the facts.

No kidding. I wish they'd drop the attempts at personal attacks and talk about the issues. Personal attacks that aren't relevant to the issues at hand just muddy the water and make it more difficult to make an informed decision in my opinion.

Also, why did the moderator just make that comment about Edwards not talking about Isreal when I just listened to him talk about it in detail? Her comment was really inappropriate it seemed.

But I did turn away for a couple seconds and I might have missed something. Was her comment justified?

they are both dodging issues quite a bit. cheney is offering better facts and is supporting their course of action very well.

so far, it's been a bit of a wash. edwards is definitely not as steady as cheney, he seems a bit nervous. it's hilarious to see the difference between cheney and bush, wonder who the brains of that operation is..

content-wise, so far, i don't think this debate will sway any undecid.. oh wait, i'm not even supposed to be here.. *poof*

She should just sit there and ask questions, its not her place right now to say things like Edwards didn't talk about a certain topic. People will do that soon enough.

Thats a debate man. A person presents a topic. One person talks about it, the other debunks what the other said. Then they switch. Cheney is doing it a little better IMO.

Edwards has to do better on Domestic issues. He seems to be dodging one of his strenghts. Example: He could have answered stronger on AIDS in America.

cheney is, imo, performing better than edwards. it's nothing like when kerry walked all over bush, but his tone is much stronger than edwards'. but P meister Flex has a point. however, i'd phrase it thusly: neither debater is presenting any "facts", as such, instead, they are presenting their own parties spin of reality. as long as you qualify your statement, one can say that either $200 billion or $120 billion is the cost of the war in iraq, and be "correct" in either stance.

i want to see this "factcheck.com".

I would have to agree that she has had some harsh questions. But - eh - It's about time that someone does. I wish someone would do that to Bush.
