they were all good, (except for mine :| :D ) i like the combine boss hoverbike thing, well thought of,

but my vote goes to mechagodzilla as i like the style and they look so damn creepy
 
I like alien bosses, and the fact mechas looks so good, so he gets my vote.
 
I really liked Mechagodzilla's art. The best for me is SVoSCA(smaller variation of suicide's combine apc).
 
Thanks everybody. Remember that Suicide42 gets co-credit for actually designing the Entry 5 strider. I just drew it.

I voted for RJMC, since good paint art is as rare as chocolate-flavoured gold. :)

We really need to get more people entering though. I think a lot more people will sign up once prizes are implemented. What sort of prizes though??????

'A night with a stripper' (Male of course, because a female would be sexist. This rotates between Badger and Fenric....We wanted the real deal but they insisted)
'A bottle of genuine British air' (This includedes the small delivery fee of £13,000,000)

Mechagodzilla's ones were extremely well made, but I voted <RJMC> because I like the idea alot and he did a great job with paint! :D
 
Any ideas for next weeks contest? One of the ones left over from last weeks idea was to make something using real world materials, such as clay, tape, chicken wire, etc.
 
how about hl2 stuff blended into the real world, photoshoping?

i dont know if it has been done before, if only been folowing for the past week or so.
 
Yeah, we've done a few of those types of contests before. That's kind of a general topic though, anything more specific you can think of?
 
how about placing a hl charecter into an inportaint or famous possition, say G-Man for president or such...

Yeah, Mecha gets my vote. he's so good it almost makes entering seem pointless. Almost. But not quite! ;)

Nah, I was talking about Hordan. If you don't submit an entry, you don't have much room to talk. Especially since we haven't seen any work of his anywhere.

Burnzie, I thought your photoshop was pretty good overall. The shadow was nicely done. Most people just slap the shadow in without thinking at the end, but I thought it looked pretty believable.
 
thanks, i like photoshoping, and i can do alot better than that. my current course an tafe has a section devoted to image manipulation, im uncreative when it comes to designing creatures and what not though, thats why my entry lacked creativity.

as for hordon, he can follow me around and post, he's ok, i need a laugh every now and then.
 
For the next one, can we do 'design a location for the Sourceworld mod'?
 
naaa, burnzie dont listen to those annoying prats. i really liked your entry, its really hard to make a picture look perfect anyway so i wouldnt worry about "the shadow looking dodgy" or something.

And i agree that people who havent entered shouldnt make comments like that. i mean thats harsh. If you dont like it, the best wy to prove your point is to do it better, so hordon... get the same images and make a photoshop picture that is better than burnzies, and then i will forgive you.

Hhhhmmmmm... ideas...ideas...

How 'bought "design your own gun". The only catch is that instead of firing bullets, it must fire some kind of vegetable or fruit.

This could generate very interesting submissions like a potato gun, or tear gas (using onions).

The idea came to me while I was thinking of an effective way to combat world hunger. "Attack your enemies peacefully, while giving food to the less fortunate."
Everybody wins.

Other than that I've got nothing. Most of the ideas are already taken;this will be the 20th contest you know. Hey that calls for a celebration right?

Because the next contest is the 20th as Mr. Canadian stated, I figure we should wait till next week to begin the contest so that we can try to come up with a really really good idea. So, everyone start posting your ideas! We have a good 4 or so posted already. Also, I'll try to get some PR set up in time for next week.
 
the design a gun idea is VERY kewl, but i would only enter if i could design a serious gun and not a potatoe gun :LOL:
 
what about design a HL2 vehicle?
or re-design the HEV suit?
or design your own alien race?
or something about the arrest of the hackers?(if < this idea is not choosen, I will made something about it aniway)
 
The design a gun thing (only if it's serious though, fun stuff but no potato gun stuff) is pretty cool, either that or the HEVsuit redesign (me glances at the Hordon Hevsuit)

We've already done an HEV redesign as a topic a while ago.
Same with the design an alien thing (wasn't that this week's contest? ;)).
I'm still partial to the gun plan though.

trust me... if we do a gun design one, sulkdodds will be in here with full out drawings of a supergun, in perfect proportion and realism (he gets into this stuff a bit much ;) )

that is, if i tell him... as he has no internet atm i think... not on his good PC anyway.
 
a gun would be rockin ass, if i could draw them very well anyway..... goes and works in photoshop somemore :sniper:
