I tried connecting to my FTP...didn't work :(

Man it'd be cooler if it were a longer video *wink *wink

man that water looks awesome... thanks sub!

It was chopping a 'lil in there... i dunno if its just fraps though... since it lowers fps in the game

I'm guessing its just the video.... maybe my computer... i dunno

Just register... you don't even hafta open your e-mail and send a verification... pretty easy

The walls like kind of tacky but i'm sure it looks a lot better in-game :-D

BT would be slow...it's only 22MB :p

aero, walls look amazing in-game :p

How long is the VST total

i wonder if a vid of the whole thing would be to big *wink

Wow, that is badass, thanks Subkamran! I enjoyed your other vids also.

Question: Why the hell didn't Valve release something this high quality already, instead of relying on crappy cam footage? This is so much more impressive!

hehe i wonder if this will make front page :-D! :bounce:

*starts chanting full length video :-D

Unless you have a limit on the server or something

hey kool thx.
you're the first guy to put it so doesn't matter how short it is :)

Those were by fans that went to E3 with cameras. Valve released super high quality high resolution binks

How bout some screens for us that are still downloading the update from steam :(

er no it isnt to grab users, its because bandwidth doesnt come free

hmm true... i was j/k anyways

I wonder if the full length thing would be to big to host :(

I can't imagine the VST being 2+ min long :O

EDIT: man i hate double posts! sorry mods! :(

Yeah, but I don't remember any binks of the VST!

Please note!

The stress test is meant to test your computer under extreme conditions. CS:S requires MUCH LESS than what the test offers.

It's only about 1:30.

There would be no purpose to bink the VST, and it would also confuse people. It has no gameplay, and people may download thinking it's the actual stresstest and when it ran perfectly they'd be misled :p

It's less than 20 seconds long.

Whatever, my FRAPS had a 30 second timelimit, I didn't stop it, so I assumed it was 0:30. I just hurried to post it for people :naughty:

I say just make a fraps of the whole 1:30 thing

Either way thanks to sub we have a video at all... besides if you use fraps people will know its just a recording cause it'll say fraps.com at the top... i'm just curious :)

I don't think it'll really confuse people.... just list it as "video captured from VST"

i dunno :)

EDIT: sorry sub i didn't even look to see that fraps had a 30 sec timelimit... i'll look for another alternative if you wanna do a full one :)

hmmm... maybe... I'm just saying for something designed to show off the engine, they really would have been showing off if they had released a bink instead of just a cam.

Anyways, not to hijack your thread, Subkamran, it's just that your little vid is so awesome compared to those old cams.

record a demo and when play the demo use the console command demoui to bring up a small interface ..
pull the .. whatever it's called, pull it down a bit to slow down the playback, and startmovie
it should produce a whole bunch of tga's along with a wav file.

in virtualdub, open the first tga, for audio select the wav file.

go to video > framerate and select to match the video and audio length.

produce the avi.

ok, can you bring down the console and record demos in it?

Jeeze, calm down aero, it's basically just the same as the tech demo from 2003, you don't have to go nuts over it.

oh really? then why do i get 25-40 FPS in CS:S while in that test i get a score of 48 FPS? :hmph:

could be all the firefights and stuff slowing it down, +physics

i guess it all depends on your machine

Valve created more chaos releasing this: they just should have run timedemos and given us hardcore numbers.

OR just release it to the public

maybe they'll have a more comprehensive benchmark to release for everybody? heh i doubt it :-D

I'm right now working on the full video, 1024x768, max settings (no aa/af due to it causes pink textures).

Before I go through the trouble, you guys want a BINK right?
