VU confirmed HL2 delay?

I know there's a deditcated delay thread here,just want to grab your attention.

this seems to contradict to the saying given by VU's PR manager a couple days ago,any comments?

Yeah that particular announcement was a mistake (it doesnt mean that HL2 will definatelly be out on Sept 30, though).

A hoax is intentional; it was a miscommunication (apparently).

I believe it's a miscommunication in the fact that Sept. 30th IS out for the 2003 holiday season, but people took the holiday season comment to mean the game had been delayed when no such thing was EVER said. It is the sites reporting the news that turned it into a delay.

Truth is noone really knows. Even Valve. Even if Valve finished it VU has a right to delay it if they saw fit for their business.

It seems like Valve would have made sure that VU would ship the game on the 30th before announcing that date....I seriously doubt that this has anything to do with VU delaying the game to make a larger profit.

I swear somewhere it confirmed that VU said it was misunderstood and it, still will probaly make the 30th of September release date.

I don't see how delaying half-life2 would boost sales for half-life2. Maybe it will help keep some other game from getting swept aside (read Condition Zero).

Well I ain't buying no game from VU before Half-Life 2.
