I agree with the mess thing. I have a simple johnny the homicidal maniac wallpaper(the black n white of him holding the knives all darklike) and its good. background. doesn't draw too much attention, no excess lines and whatnot. It just gets annoying when there is too much going on.

And don't yell at people for constructive criticism

lol how are there too many lines? theres a pic in the middle with black bars so you can put your icons and such. i dont really see how this is considered cluttered or how it 'draws away your attention from the desktop' ..whatever its so old i dont even care at this point

to clarify on lines, I mean visual lines - things people's eyes follow when looking at an imagine. its a natural thing, you always follow a line, like a person's face, their wrinkles, any contrast in colors like that. So I mean there is a lot of things happening at once which distracts your eyes a lot. and thats bad.

I agree on the comment CyberSh33p made, there are so many points the eye is getting pulled to, that its is giving the viewer a restless messy feeling. Maby if desolate would have made the g-man 100% transparant it pulles the eye manly to the g-man. I am not sure tho, I might be wrong. I suggest to try and experiment with it to archieve the best feeling you get when looking at it.

i dont like it, the 2 is kinda too stylistic, and messing with the opasity makes it look kinda wierd, my eyes cant deside weather to focus on the back round, or to focus on the peps. it kinda looks like a bad action movie poster.
oh btw i started reading the thread, u guys r pretty funny. *sighs and says to himself* arguing over a wallpaper *chuckles* thanx for takin it back on topic evil!

hl2 wallpapers are getting boring as **** now.. sorry i didnt make a 3d hl2 logo and put it in water or make it look like its blened into a pipe or some shit. anyway its probably the last hl2 wallpaper ill do, theres just no more ideas that can be done (that i care to try), only different versions of the same thing. bye
