Just posted another reply before I saw your remarks. I said and I repeat that I did not wish to provoke an agreement but I take exception to being called a retard and stupid.
I made a genuine comment on the trailer.
I won't even take you on regarding WW11 as that is another matter.
I will ask you and only you to reply, do you really believe that the rest of us belief the same way as you? Do you really think that Britain and the rest of Europe swallow the American film industry?
Believe it or not pal we actually have minds of our own and can actually make decisions and opinions by ourselves.
If your only reply is further insults don't bother.

Didnt insult you once except for when I said you sounded stupid which you did. I didnt call you retarded, I said if you thought (i forgot what you said) and I quoted you, and if you really think that then yes you are retarded. It was more retoricle because I know you dont think that. World War 2, what more do you need to say? I gave it to you, I admit America was a dick, Britain basically fought the war on their own... what more do you want to argue? Unless you think that Britain was not the main reason for winning the war then I guess I should say good luck.

If you guys can make up your own damn minds then stop comparing everything to cliches, or to America, or to Bush. Just ****ing stop. Dont say "unlike America I dont want to save people" or shit like that. Say your own opinion not what isnt your opinion. Cause that would be way too broad. This is so pointless so lets just end it here.

You are right, I apologies, if my remarks came accross as America bashing it wasn't my intention.
My posting as annoyed you and again it wasn't my intention.
We should maybe see how the movie is rather than speculating and taking cheap shots at one another.Like you said lets end it here.

Well staying true to the novel really became difficult when they changed the location and time period.

Its like at the start of The Anchorman, it says "This movie is based on actual events. Only the names, locations and events have been changed"

Sadly, Anchorman wasn't that good.

True that it would have been great to have it set in Europe, back in the older days, but sometimes you just have to update things. ;(

I guess we won't know whether the changes were justified until we see the movie this summer.

There was no Anchorman in Europe they potraited, stop derailing from the main topic.

well from what I've found out its not an "america saves the day" movie, its more an "america and most of the world get their arses royally kicked" and that a good deal of it is more a movie about the whole relationship thing mixed with survival, with the main cast with the martians as a backdrop, more of a family type movie, which is understandable as thats the kind spielberg seems to like making.

I was under the impression this movie was set in the 1930's. Then I saw Tom Cruise with a NY cap.

dude America didn't defeat Martians didn't you read the the War of the Worlds, and seen the Old movies. Whole world was brought to humanity's knees, until they all died of simple common human disease.

I'm pretty sure most people know that. The point is Hollywood has a tendancy to change it to the US saves the day type storyline. Thats why people don't want it to happen this time too.

Steven Spielburg wouldn't take that route i am sure :(

I didn't like AI at all. The Terminal wasn't that hot either, but wasn't bad though. It had CZ-Jones in it, rawrrrr.
Oh yeah, AI sucked. But i liked the Terminal. It was nothing special, just one of those feel-good sorta movies. And yeah , Catherine Zeta ;) She's a bit of alright.

Too bad Tom Cruise had to be cast in this. I might check it out once it hits DVD regardless. I'm two years into a lifelong boycott of seeing Hollywood movies in the theaters.

Down with entertainment, fun, wonder, imagination, and all those who enjoy them!
Seriously, are we a little bitter about something or what? Who get to make the distinction between whats "hollywood" and whats not anymore?

great find, thank you for that, it is a bit different and shows quite a lot of new stuff

Not much to see really. I'm quite impressed how the media blackout on the fighting machines is holding up though, they must be either something phenomenally special or totally too ridiculous to show.

Film will probably be quite entertaining in the short term knowing Spielberg, but in my opinion Peter Jackson or Ridley Scott would do this story more justice, maybe in a few years they'll get around to an authentic remake.

Will be looking forward to it,as long as it's not too expensive.
