Anybody else feel like sometime around December of last year, the world just somehow became a lot more somber?

I can't put my finger on it, I don't know what it was, but something happened, and I know for a fact that there are at least a few others in my local community that feel the same way as I do.

Pre-december, the world seemed trouble free and full of life and entertainment. Now it's as if everything is coming to a penultimate end, and as if everybody began to anticipate everything.

Any of you folks feel the same way? It was as if the world just got a few ticks more depressing, and things just got boring.

I must say I have had an ominous feeling lately. I feel like something big is about to happen. Soon

Not really. Well, maybe, in a way. Ever since December I started to feel like something was actually happening in the world. I'm more excited that depressed though. Like, before then I felt like the world was standing still, in every way possible, but since, it feels like something is going on.

It's probably the Apocalypse! :D

I feel like good things are going to happen.

The Good-pocalypse? Liek a reverse Apocalypse?

Or maybe we'll dig ourselves up some alien tech.

I sense some quantum shit is going down

I sence a disturbance in the Force. It's like a thousands voices started singing Bel Air, and were suddently silenced.

Not really. :\ I think something big is going to happen in this century, but this year? Can't really say.

I'd say it's at least within the decade. That is, if it's going to be a sudden event.

Edit: D:

I'm a zombie

See, that's exactly how things felt prior to December.

I used to feel like things were happening in the world, that all was good, and that society was headed for great things.

Now it feels like the universe is just standing still.

I've felt happier over the past few months. Silly me.

have you been high the last four+ years?? you must not read up or watch the news ever..

The last 10000 years or so have seen some pretty big global changes. I think that the next century will be even more cataclysmic than the last, but less violent.

Its probably when discovery channel started their "end of the world" or whatever television series. Plus a lot of movies recently have been infatuated with apocolyptic themes.

Ambivalence. I think things are moving, and yet in a winter.

Hard to tell, though. It's probably just me.

If the world is going to end hurry the **** up, the wait is depressing.

this is a stupid thread. i disagree.

and you who posted above me. yeah i disagree!

and everyone on the first page of this thread, i disagree.

also the person who posts next, i disagree with your probably stupid post too.

"Of course it's ending," said the Mayor. "My job is simply to help your exit be as quick and comfortable as possible."

I don't like the pressure I'm under for this post.

The world has been getting more mundane it seems.

I don't know but I'm finding myself studying more, that could be a regarded as a form of depression :/

I too was feeling a bit melancholic the other day.

Then I had a wank.

As I previously stated elsewhere, 'twas not of the guilt inducing type.

This year I turn legal.

That ominous feeling is the calm before I steal all your wimmenz.

Yes, it's called growing up.

Eventually you'll be a cynical bastard like Pi.

If the world has become more sombre in the past few months, I think it's because humanity is beginning to realize some very important, very difficult decisions lie ahead in this century.

lol, my ass, humanity isn't realising shit. You want ominous, try 1950's, 60's. I think the psychological presence of nuclear weapons is somewhat larger than 'we may or may not die in a hundred years from it being warmer'.

you're 16

dude you don't grow up at 16, you do stupid things and act like an asshole.

Either that or you turn impossibly whiney and emo and "deep". You'll have sudden "realizations" about "life" and "insights" into "philosophy" and "perceive new things". Also, "stuff in quotation marks".

This.

:( :( :(

:bonce:

I find this forum's obsession with the end of the world disturbing, it's like you want it to happen. What the heck is wrong with you people. :|

And to answer your question no I don't "feel" anything, everything's fine (and no I don't live under a rock I do watch the news).

Things do seem more depressing, and it seems to overshadow something very large and unpleasent is going to happen.

Then again, I think a lot of this is just because many of us are comming of age where we realize what the real world feels like. Life sucks, nothing new.
