Hiyya everybody!! :D (think this is me first post (been reading a while))

I have read quite a bit on this forum and others about this game and to be quite honist I cant wait for the release date whatever that may be (/me hopes its gonna be sept 30th I got that week booked off work :) )

anyway the point of this post was to see if anyone had seen any new screenies or movies etc.. that I/we haven't seen that has any shots of any of the new weapons in HL2
so far I have seen 11 weapons in the movies that are all looking pretty cool
a picture of them all I made >> Here

any i have missed ?? please post pics :)

my fave has got to be the manipulator then again anyone not like it lol?

sorry if this has been posted b4 i havent seen any posts with all weapons in them though :)

Hi :)

Yeah, I think you got them all, except perhaps for the rail gun which is installed on the dune buggy. There will be around 25 altogether when the game is released.

gj, but one of the manipulators will not be in game, i think so anyway...

i was going to post that gun too but i wanted to stay with player held guns for now

next to view is monsters and enemys see how many there is of them :) hehehe

hope both manipulators are in game lol they both look very cool :) if not ill try to mod it in :) (the one that picks up the camra is the best in my opinion)

It might be. When I asked Gabe about it, he said:

"It's a different weapon"

Dunno, whats that suppose to mean.

i think one is an attacking weapon (the one that picks up the camra) and the other is just to move things around maybe to solve puzzle bits or get into secret zones or even to block ways for the enemy :) ahh well we will see soon

I'm thinking that the blue one is possibly a tool that scientists used or something and it's an earlier version of the yellow one. Once the designers realized it's potential, they turned it into a weapon by adding the launching function.

About the 25:

In one of the interviews Doug said something like "it doesn't matter that we have 25 or so weapons, it's how we implement them that counts". Thats not really confirming it, but I think it will be close to that number. Heck, if you just add all the HL1 weapons to the current ones it will be 25.

No guys, the guy is right, one for tech demo, other for game. gabe said so too.

yer like in HL1 you get to push the "trolly" thing that had the sample into the beam for the experiment ... maybe in HL2 you get to do another experiment this time with the beam weapon/tool thing it would explain a few things nice one :D

to me the beam weapon looks like the Ghostbuster weapon lol "ahhh he slimed me"

Gabe never commented on the blue beam manipulator except for my email which is on the first page of the Valve Info thread. If I'm wrong please tell me.

Gabe also said every gun will have an alternate fire in the game, to keep things interesting, so maybe the manipulator has both...

I wouldn't book a week off of work for Sep 30...Just look at what happened with SWG. Everyone booked April 15 off from work than it was delayed for another 2 months.

I can book it two weeks in advance :cheese:

Is there gonna be a sniper-rifle thingie? Or a new crossbow? Perhaps some new pistols.. Maybe a big machinegun.. Who knows? Only the Valve guys, and they won't tell us :)

the one with the beem wont be in the game.

Do you mean the gauss or egon? I'd assume the egon, as the gauss is attached to the buggy on the video, but then again, you have no proof that the egon isn't in...

Blue beam manipulator will be only in the traning facilty.

You don't know this! I doubt the gravity gun will even be in Half-Life 2.

It seems that the "blue beam" gravity weapon is only used in the tech demo to quickly and easily show off the physics engine. Thus it is very likely that you will not get access to this weapon/device in the game at all. The practical uses for this device are more limited than the manipulator anyways (from what I saw in the demos).

I do believe (well... hope) that they will allow you to get this weapon/device by using a developer mode or cheat mode to give it to yourself whenever you desire (In a similar manner as one could obtain any of the weapons in HL1). It would definitely give you a greater potential for causing mischief.

I, of course, could be wrong, and I actually hope that I am. Picking up a dead enemy and slamming them into another enemy (among countless other acts) sure sounds like alot of fun! :bounce:

It will be available in a cheat, no doubt about it.

They didn't just model a different manipulator gun for nothing. (notice it doesn't have the yellow glow and it's slightly different)

I believe the "rail gun" on the dune buggy is actually the tau cannon from Half-Life.

You can hear it spinning up if you listen carefully.

tau cannon?

It's a Gauss Gun :dork:

me prays for raging-bull taurus 5 shot. best pistol evar.

Tau Cannon = Warhammer? Not sure at all.

As for the sniper rifle, I think the m29 would be advanced enough with that super duper computer scope on it to be able to zoom and fire from extreme distances.

Of course I guess it would be natural to have a DEDICATED sniper rifle that was balanced, and doesn't fire in rapid busts. It'll probably just be a real sniper rifle this time and not a crossbow. It just doesn't feel Half-life2-ish to have a crossbow :)

Tau cannon was also called guass gun, guass gun was also called Tau cannon, there the same things.

Also the Gluon Gun is also called the Egon Gun.

I wonder why the high tech weapons have different names.
