Weird ebaumsworld thingHOWDOESITWORK

It's quite simple, each time a new thing pops up, there's only so many combinations that can occur. Therefore, all the symbols for the possible numbers are the same. Same results each time

Edit: To see what I mean, don't click the box, and think up two numbers and follow the process. Both symbols will be the same.

WTF... It's kinda weird lol..

But notice that the images change everytime you hit 'again'.. there's an easy explanation to this, we just don't know how it works.

pick a couple numbers that work: 9, 18, 81... they all have the same symbol which changes each time.

Oh I get it now... Amazing that someone can think of something like that. sweet!!

I know how it works... Look at 64, subtract 6+4 (10) , voila 54.. The symbol is exactly like the one on 54.. Next time it's it again, and next , and next.. Notice all the numbers that have the same symbol as 54.. These are the numbers you can possibly get by subtracting stuff.. You won't get any other number than those .. Hope you understand my jibberish..

EDIT: sorry didn't see the other posts.

All the symbols at the bottom change as well.. Weird thing is it was wrong for me like 4 times but my math sucks

lol its not probing my mind. I might be how long you hold the mouse over a certain symbol, since most people scan with their mouses. Hold the cursor over the square, find the symbol then click it, it wont have the one you picked.
EDIT: Errr maybe im wrong but it hasnt gotten mine right once.

The answer is always a multiple of 9, but never 90

Just follow the diagonal from 9 to 81 - all the same symbol

Here is the "math" explanation:

Think of each number as 10x + y. So if u have 56, x = 5 and y = 6.

5 * 10 + 6 = 56

Now you subtract the second digit:

(10x + y) - y = 10x

Now you subtract the first digit:

10x - x = 9x

The answer is always divisible by 9. So you just have to make all number divisible by 9 have the same symbol. :)

I can see what you mean.. kinda.. But you don't put any numbers in it, so its got no way of knowing which number you picked. If you entered any numbers atall then it would work something like that, but you don't, so it can't, its a 1/100 chance of getting it right and gets it right each time. There's another way it does it, but I'll be buggered if I know :)

Edit: *see's Murray's and LoneDerangers posts* see, thats how it does it ;)

ooh, i worship your skill with math
/me worships

That is a pretty good trick. Better than that stupid card one. Where you look at some cards, then choose one (in your head) and click somthing, and on the next page it says it took your card out. But none of the cards on the second page were even on the first page.

It took me about 2 minutes to figure out that one and this one.
