What are they.

I chew the insides of my cheeks.
When no-one's around, my hand is down my shorts most of the time. For comfort.
I talk to myself and characters made up by me sometimes.

I chew the insides of my cheeks.

I did that till they started bleeding, became sore, swelled up and hurt like Jesus in a frying pan.

Quit now.

I'm a total freak, but I'll try to only think of the ones that won't cause everyone to cease all communication with me.

*nods*

Sometimes when I'm in the bathroom doing shit I look in the mirror and pretend I'm on a tv show about my life.

Whenever I have any amount of energy (which is like, all the time) I've got some kind of beat in my head, and I will play it with my fingers, or mouth (no not beatboxing, just moving my jaw and tongue, hard to explain)

i fart somewhere then i smell the area.

I fart in my hands and throw fart balls at my friends.

Ok this might not be weird but everyone looks at me weird when I tell them this. I actually crave to eat Salt and Vinger chips dipped in Texas Pete Hot Sauce. It is GOOOOD!

I drum. On anything. All the time.

I usually try to find as many different surfaces as possible in my immediate vicinity, and then try to section them off as different drums. Something that has a high pitched "clicky" sound will become the hi hat, whatever has a resonant, sharp, and rattly tone becomes the snare, etc etc. For the kick, I usually either just tap my toes, or i'll form a fist and pound on something solid.

I'll often use my fingernail as a hi-hat too.

When I sit and drum on my lap, my left hand slaps my kneecap/thigh (snare), my right hand slaps my right calf (hi hat), and I tap my foot for the kick.

When I walk, I click my teeth. I click my right side molars with my mouth in a relaxed and semi-open position for the kick, and I click my front teeth with my lips pulled way back in a bit of a smile, as the snare.

My left leg, which is thinner than the right because I was stricken with club foot as a child, is often curled into a relaxed position. Dunno why.

When I sit, i'll usually either sit on my left leg by tucking it under my right thigh, place my foot over my right knee, or lay it gently over my right shin, so that the bridge between my right foot and right shin is gently caressing my left ankle.

When I lean up against something, it's always the left leg that I kick over my right leg. When I get tired and start to lean, none of the pressure is on my left foot. My right leg does ALL the work.

I talk to myself about things I know, as if I was lecturing the air itself.

i step in front of cars, and sue the drivers...lol

no, i always for some god damn reason (only when i workout or do something physically demanding) picture myself as a dbz character (LMAO)...yea it sounds so incredibly gay and childish but it honestly makes my workouts more intense and i can lift heavier or perform better when i do this lol

^^ That actually sounds like a good technique

I've had lots of weird habbits/ticks in the past. They seem to come and go. I'll list as many as I can think of...

- If I became conscious of my breathing, whenver I would exhale I'd feel the need to exhale completely, doing weird things with my diaphragm muscle, before inhaling again.

- Constantly stretching/bending fingers or toes.

- Lately I have been stretching my jaw, always to the left..and making other weird movements with my jaw because it always feels bothered. I think it has something to do with the slight pressure from wearing my headphones.

And this:
I talk to myself about things I know, as if I was lecturing the air itself.

I scratch my nose and my eyes a lot.

The eye thing is actually a nervous tick that I use to my advantage. It's a great way to give somebody the cold shoulder, i'll just turn my head, focus on my finger, and then scratch that little space between your eyeball and the bridge of your nose, as if to get rid of that crap that builds up when you sleep.

I do this almost all the time, I also discuss problems with myself, recite dialouge from movies, sing etc. Pretty much whenever I'm home alone.

I also play idly with stuff I find on my desk when I'm bored.

I'm actually clicking a lighter open and closed as I read this thread.

I think everybody does that tbh with you :p

Cool thread.

- I nearly always go to bed with my mp3 player on and the lights off before i fall asleep, sometimes i will wake up in the morning and it will still be on. I just like listening to music as i go to sleep.

- Sometimes when sitting, watching tv f.e at home i will put my feet close together, with one foot directly on top of the other slighty crossed, as if 'locked'. I don't know why, i think its a nervous thing tbh.

- When i don't have college/work/other engagements early the next morning i tend to stay up past midnight usually browsing the internet, only half interested in what i'm reading, almost as if i dont want to end the day by going to bed :|

- I tend to recite lines from films alot when alone for no reason, usually just one sentence, for example the 'Call it, friendo' line from No Country For Old Men, sometimes altering them lol.

yes i have many of those nights...especially on weeknights lol

I can't... think of any wierd things about be. I pretty much am a wierd thing.

What are they.

I chew the insides of my cheeks.

Used to do that, but stopped. There would be this little ridge along the side of my mouth.

Used to like to sit on my hands too.

I count my steps when I walk (and other repetitive things), in groups of 4. Sometimes I'll know I'm counting and it'll be annoying when things like the number of stair steps or the number of steps it takes to cross the street don't come out as a multiple of 4. Sometimes it'll be subconscious -- once I was just walking and counting and didn't realize it until I'd gotten above 100.

Im a bender. I bend girders, thats all im programed to do. I can bend a girder to any angle. Thirty degrees, thirty-two degrees, you name it. Thirty one.

Got a little something here you might be interested in to strengthen your chi with.;) Chi strengthening techniques

Oh, my weird thing is that I have a fetish for dragons.:p Pretty weird imo.

lol some of those actually work, thanks for the link :D

Lullers.

When I was walking on a tiled floor, I'd always be careful not to step on the lines in between tiles. Most of the time I'd be trying to imitate horse moves from Chess.

I always have a box of clementines in my room at any given time. When I eat one, I like to pretend I'm a velociraptor eating its prey. I pull the muscles apart from each other one by one, tearing into them with my teeth as I go along. The juices explode in my mouth like blood, and the tender flesh is devoured within seconds.

Also I wear ballet flats that are starting to fall apart, and it tends to make me feel like I am much more powerful than I really am.

Damn, you and Zombie are some of the oddest people I've met.

Oh gods.

When zombie posts here...it will be long.

I chew my nails. And wonder why one of the top schools in the state is full of IDIOTS.

Cuz their wealthy parents try to do the best for their kids. Most of the time.

Used to wonder this too, myself. :D

edit: Oh I forgot, sometimes when I'm bored I start doing some calligraphy exercises with my left hand to see if I can get skills and write or draw something cool.

I kid you not, there are too many to mention. I'm a big old collection of phobias and habits. Super.

I'm scared of anything medical, because when I was 16 I had 8 blood clots across my lungs and had two heart attacks. Now when I have to take any new medicine (I have lupus so it's quite often) I have huge panic attacks.

I have at least one panic attack every day.

I'm scared of my teeth falling out and I regularly touch my front teeth to make sure they're still there.

I also wear ballet flats that are falling apart! I was pleased to read that one. Mine are grey and have a hole in the sole.

Whatever, I'm done.

I chew the insides of my mouth. Not just the cheeks, every part of the inside of my mouth. Chew them viciously, sometimes until the pain is unbearable.

I never step on the lines between tiles. Ever.

I tend to always lightly touch my cacti when I remember that they're here.

I'm pretty sure someone in this thread already said this one, but I like to talk to myself and my characters. I even have favourite ones to talk to.

I use Internet slang in real life.

I fall asleep faster when I have something mildly heavy(e.g. a book) on my head. Also, I feel more confortable when my legs are higher than my head.

I'm writing a fairly mediocre fantasy novel, and when I can't come up with anything serious, I write 'blooper' scenes, that are just like my actual scenes, only something goes horribly wrong in them.

Whenever I'm listening to any kind of song, I sing the lyrics in a raspy voice.

I tend to constantly play with my hair.

I rip up paper when I'm enraged.

I think I'l finish this later.

I have a fetish for female anus.

I have a crush on Lisa Edelstein (Dr. Cuddy)

I look at Alyx' panties when she kneels down.

I sit on my hands as much as humanly possible (I was doing it all through this thread). For some reason they are the coldest part of my body at any given time. Even when I'm in bed, curled up in a warm ball, my hands are usually freezing. Pisses me off.

Also used to have a thing about clicking my jaw to pop my ears, but I can't do that anymore 'cuz I recently had a bimaxillary osteotomy :(.

Uhm, when I'm in university lectures/seminars/workshops, I find that doodling helps me listen better, so I always start new work on the right side of the book, and use the back of the other page to doodle idly. You can usually guess my mood by what I draw. Luckily most of the time I'm happy.

Other usual things like clicking fingers, drumming idly (though not as much as Sinko it seems :D), sometimes swaying/slightly dancing to music (even if it's just in my head). That's probably the weirdest thing to other people is when I'm half-dancing to a tune that doesn't exist.

What??? That's pretty horrible :(

:D! Mine are jade green and each have a hole on where the fabric meets the sole. They also are probably not the most effective shoes, as stepping on a pebble is enough to take me out. And if it's raining, my feet get soaked and cold.

But I'm pretty sure they're the source of all my superpowers, so I'm willing to make some sacrifices.

Haha, that's exactly where the hole in mine is. Oh we are silly.

I once urinated of the Eiffel tower because i got caught short when taking the stairs.

I cannot sleep unless i have the TV on or I'mm listening to music.

I used to fake orgasms in my early teens because i simply couldn't relax enough to let go and enjoy myself during sex and would simply fake one due to bieng worn out.

I look like declan donnoly of ant and dec fame. (poor me)

I have 5 canine teeth thanks to one of my adult canine teeth coming through in the wrong place and having no adult tooth push out my baby canine tooth the upper right side of my jaw.

I usually have a single song or tune going through my head most of the time and its usually a different tune that only changes once per day. Yesterdays tune was Gary Numan - halo which is a pretty decent track. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5sFALY3OA30

However it can go the opoosite way too as todays inhead internal DJ on repeat was the sodding sonic the hedgehog themetune that i just couldnt get out of my head! :(

For the kick, I usually either just tap my toes, or i'll form a fist and pound on something solid.

heh, same for me, too. It usually sounds kind of bad because I'm no drummer (guitar yay!), I usually get told to stfu, or I receive death threats because I'm doing it too loud.. I often do it in school during a test.

When I'm walking on a tiled floor, I usually avoid stepping on the cracks, for I will fall, and it will break my back.

I pose in front of the mirror after I shower, making me look more menacing then I am.

I chew my finger nails, and when I chew them too far down, I start on the skin at the ends of my fingers.

In winter, I block the heat vent in my room with my bean-bag chair, I open the window all the way, and turn on the fan on beside my bed. Then I curl up into a little ball under my blankets.. It feels so good to know everything is cold, but I'm nice and warm under the blankets.. It just really sucks to wake up and get out, because I sleep in just my boxers, so it's god damn cold.. In summer I just leave the vent open because I got central air!

I grind my teeth all the time, so much so, that I need a mouthgard to sleep.. The cost of being extreme, I suppose.

When no one is in my house, I like to practice martial arts, usually in front of the TV, I start doing spin kicks and punching and stuff, I sometimes 'beat-up' my dogs (my punches/kicks never connect, it's just funny to see my boxer's reaction to all punches and kicks right in front of her face). I only do this when I start wandering around because there is nothing on TV, I wander, then I start getting bored, then I start punching and stuff..

I also sit on my hands, because they are always cold.. Most of the time, I put them under my armpits. My armpits are really warm, so I just put my cold hands there, to warm them up.

I play little games alot, too. Ones where no one can know what I'm playing, like seeing how fast I can move my fingers in 30 seconds, or seeing how far I can throw a paper ball, and if someone catches me doing it, it doesn't count.. I got hundreds of games like that, can't remember them all right now, though. I usually make them up depending on what I have and where I am.
