Recently CptStern said that 9/10 kids have been preyed upon as a child. I know I havent, so this number seems grossly inflated to me. I was wondering what the actual number was right.

(I mean no offense at all to CptStern, I have heard statistics like this before, and all have seemed rediculous.)

(Do NOT vote just to joke around)

(Keep any discussion civil)

Could you just be a little bit more specific, when you say... preyed. :|

What exactly do you mean?

Are we talking getting beat up, verbally abused, or sexually exploited here or what?

Some guy invited me to his hotel room a few weeks ago over the summer. I pondered for less than 0.000001 seconds and said no. He kept asking me questions and held on about 3 minutes too long when shaking my hand.

He even had a stereotypical lisp. :x

Anything illegal, i guess, or immoral at least. Abuse at the hands of someone else in any way while you were a child. Use you best judgement. But it should be something serious. Getting beat up or picked on in school doesnt count. Your teacher talking to you sexually probably does.

Yeah once the icecream man gave me rocky road instead of plain chocolate.

I had a form tutor who also took me for maths who turned out to be a peadeophile, and so did the headmaster. They had kiddy porn taped in envolopes underneath their desk, stuff like that. The headmaster hung himself and my teacher now lives in Germany...but i wouldn't say they preyed on me. Occasionally there were some incidents i look back on and think "hmm" but back then my childish mind didn't really see anything wrong with it.
Like the time after rugby practice my teacher got us all together and made one lad take his top off, he then got him to bend over and started rubbing his hands slowly around on his back, to "warm up" he said. He kindly offered all of us a go to which we politely declined. He also had a framed photo of two twins from my year in his office, shit like that.
The headmaster never really did anything except invite kids into his office to "smell his books", something i now look back on with alarm bells ringing, but have heard reports that he was actually wierd and actually made kids smell his old books. Hmm.

and you said no???

^^yeah, but I've heard statistics (serious ones) very similiar to that. I actually decided to post my thread when I got down to that one, at which point its hard to tell its satire, and CptStern usually says some very forceful things. I realized my mistake right after posting, but id still like to see the result.

I'll just take the wine. To go. :D

Hmm, the number of Yeses is much lower than I expected it to be.

I'm not sure if that's depressing or relieving...

Its too bad we dont have more girls on these forums, I imagine that these things would happen to them with greater frequency.

Girls get preyed upon more frequently -> We need more girls on this forum -> So that the poll shows more interesting results

...?

^^^More accurate.

Not, doesnt mean I want girls preyed upon or anything. I would just like to see results even with both sexes.

Oh, I thought you were implying that the world needs more rape.

Well, there would be one less person suspicious of me if Ophelia were to accidentally wipe you out. Not that I condone that either.

Well I was constantly beaten by two of my past step moms...is that considered "preyed upon"?

IT teacher forced me to shit in the woods. But didn't watch.

I voted Yes.

My P.E. teacher forces me to do P.E shirtless whenever I don't bring my P.E. uniform. Does that count?

Preyed by meaning Eaten a rocket/bullet/grenade/fist/sword/other object of death.

I voted yes!

PS yes Erin was cute Pes.

intr.v. preyed, prey·ing, preys

1. To hunt, catch, or eat as prey: Owls prey on mice.
2. To victimize or make a profit at someone else's expense.
3. To plunder or pillage.
4. To exert a baneful or injurious effect: Remorse preyed on his mind.

I suppose it's the 4th one.

My mates got approached by a gay guy who said he would pay them £100 each to stamp on him and beat him up in his hotel room.

I was away in Brazil so I missed out on all the fun.

I voted no.. but a good friend of my mums was found to have a strong attraction to young girls. An incident with a friend of mine exposed all this (she was 15, he was 36, married) and I've known him for years. When I was 7/8 I went to this drama thing with my mum and he was there.. always talking and telling me jokes, lending and giving me computer games and so on. I just thought he was being friendly then (I know better now *shudders*)... but when I paintballed with him (a few years back) it started getting creepy, but he 'moved on' to my friend.. :|
creepy.

I read "but when I paintballed with him" I read it "I paintballed him in the eyes"

I just woke up, so everythign is weird.

Once I had a gym teacher slap my ass after I made a good soccer play, I was too young to realize he had done anything wrong and now that I think back to it I realize that it was just that he probably forgot how young we were since the guy also coached a much older football team as well.

Thats all I can really remember, anything else was probably so minor and insignificant that no one would ever call it being "preyed" upon.

Come to think of it, my ex-primary school teacher made us do gym in our underwear if we didn't have our kit.... That was about 5 - 10 years old....

Well I scare people, so I'm not the kind of person that people prey on
