What are the chances?

What are the chances... that that information which was stolen, does not contain all the ground breaking code we are fearing it might? What if it doesn't contain all the havok physics information, or most if not all of valves ground breaking new advances.

What are the chances of that? Or has it already been confirmed somewhere that it does contain those lines of code for assimilation?

Edit: Well I mean... what are the chances that it contains most of the information that i'm sure most of todays developers already know?

well if 1/3 of its out i guess the chances are 1 in 3 lol

Having seen the code myself I can say that it definitely contains the Havok portion of the code. It's got even the documentation with it.

the chances are great

if your dumb enough to keep code on a computer you suspect is being tampered with by a hacker, gabe will have to live with this one because it is his fault

I would imagine there would be libs for 3rd party software, not their source code too! When you buy Render-ware they don't actually give you access to the engine source, just headers that allow you to utilize their compiled code.

I think this 1/3 source code stuff is a bunch of BS. All of the source code is there, alot of the GAME code is missing. Game code would be the stuff you get in the SDK, AI, weapons, items, etc. The source code for the engine is there in full though. The stuff on Gabes PC seems to have been E3 material, not the full game, so 1/3 of the GAME code may be missing, but the source code(engine, sound, physics) is there.

There's plenty of C++ code in there written by the Havok guys.

Well I wouldn't know how much Havoc code is in there, and neither should you *waves finger* :)

That's quite surprising, you usually just get an API and the libs, I guess the Havok guys must have been working quite closely with them.

The Havok code may actually be exported psychics simulations from XSI, I know you can export physics sims as C++ using Havoc Reactor from Max5. You can then #include these sims into your own code.
