What are you doing special when HL2 Comes out?

Well... I used to work at a movie theater and im still good friends with the manager who is also a hl nut. We are gona hook my pc up to the projector "not the regular one for movies but one that can outbut dvi" and the plug my audigy 2 into the sound system " still dont know how hes gona do it" but it will be awsome. Ill be the first person possibly besides gabe and them to play halflife 2 on a movie screen. After that we are gona fallow it up with a 32 man lan or 2 16 men lans for hl2 depending on what the limits are for the game.

Im interested to see what you guys are planing. What are your BIG plans for HL2.

Since their are like 6 good games coming out within 2 weeks, what are your plans on that?
 
Wow, that's very cool!

I've occasionally gamed on a LCD projector, but a cinema blows that away!
 
Holy crap.

I went into this BOSE store with a some kind of HD projector, it was friggen awesome. Lucky man!

It also had an UNBELIEVABLE surround sound system, with tiny speakers.. monoaural (or something) output :)

i'm stuck with my 17" , would be good to go upstairs and connect to the 5.1 surround with 2 subs ;)

I am going to go out and buy it with ... dun dun dunnn ... Visa.
 
I am going to make a sandwhich and draw the Half life logo with mustard. Then pour a glass of milk. After eating, and once the game is installed (hopefully < 3 CDs!). I will play it a lot.
 
um...i believe there was a thread on what r u gonna do when u get HL2.
this one is about having BIG plans...my BIG play is locking myself in my room for 2 months with food supplies, unplugged phone cable and ceiling fan on 24/7 (its out this summer right ?) and hopefully ill get a bigger monitor, maybe 19"-21".
 
The only decent game coming out soon (apart from HL2 cos its not coming for months)

so come next friday i will be sighting charlie in the tree lines and partaking in napalm sniffing.

hey guys some home projectors are cheap. why not paint a wall white in the house. and plugg up for some 'home' cinema action, afterall we arnt all as lucky as mayro.. so improvise people!, lol. :)

Playing Half Life on a cinima screen with real theater surround sound. Oh my God. That is every gamers dream. I'm going to go cry now
 
Before I sit down to play the game, I am going to make sure my room is a clean as it can be, so I don't have to sit next to a dust covered desk for the 3 days of playing the game without sleep :)

Anyhow.. me? Eh. Not sure, I prefer gaming at night, alone, since it's quieter and I prefer darkness when playing.. but.. more than likely, I won't be doing anything special :(
 
I've always fantasized about playing a game, specifically Half-Life, at a cinema with lots of people watching.

Make sure you tape this mayro, because it's a damn awesome idea.
 
:sniper: When I get Half Life 2... i'm gonna light up an ounce of purple haze while watching the Half Life 2 intro. But i'm going to take extra care of this game, it's going to be protected, i'm talkin about high tech security. It'll be placed within a burn box inside a burn box with a 25-digit "emporer" lock guarded by the Combine themselves!
 
I love the physics in the game, so once the game comes out I'm takin the Grav. Gun and pickin stuff up and shooting things and other things at other angles, into the water, down a hill, at the bad guys, at my team mates and a whole bunch of other stuff to see if I can get the game to crash because my CPU can't take all the physics at once. I love this game :angel: Can't wait!
 
Probably sit at my desk after a hard days work, and play it :) !~
 
either go buy it, bring it home, place it by my desk, take it out, install it, open the game to the main menu and then see how long i can resist no playing it.

or...

just get hammerd...and play hl2 :sniper:
 
I'll install it, play until midnight, go to bed, and hope the university blows up overnight...

Well, it's not exactly special, but... I'm gonna be extremely harsh with this game. If it dissapoints me, if I find stupid bugs or cheap plot twists, I'm gonna fackin smash it and tell everyone what a piece of crap they've been waitin for so desperately. After that I'm gonna sell my soul to Satan and ask him in return to ruin Valve !!!
Man, it sure's gonna feel good !

Seriously, I am going to be very harsh, and I'm definitely not going to enjoy it like I would have if it were out last year... I need a lot more time to forget about the pain :(
 
When im get my copy of Hl2 i will... PLAY IT!..., omg! crazy! omg oimgo mg!!!!111

ur right but i wouldnt be so harsh if i was u...at least i will have the game and ill be waiting for CS2 and other cool mods that will make this game live forever. or at least until HL3 is out...

btw, good to c another romanian here ;)
 
lol, isnt it pointless sayin stuff like that, you know its going to rule, i mean just the emotional attachement to the impressive characters will have you smiling when Alyx smiles, and making you want to restart the level if one of your buddy's die.

its going to Own!

Yeah, hit Valve where it hurts, don't have any fun with the game and try to dislike it as hard as you can, that'll teach 'em for delaying a game, they should have just brought out an unfinished product!
 
I'm going to sit down at my computer and install the game. Then find there is some obscure issue and it won't run on my PC as is. So then I will have to reformat and THEN enjoy the game.
 
im gonna move a little fridge into my room and stockpile enough food to last me a few weeks, then its GAME TIME! finish singe player, head out to multiplayer, come back and finish single player again go play more multiplayer, see if any mods are ready, if they are then dl them and play them then at long last when the food runs out ill go to sleep a happy man
 
I am going to not buy Half Life 2 when it comes out. So I can be a tortured artist and lament over not having it.
 
Gonna clear out my desk in advance.Fit a mini fridge in one side panel,A pantry type thing in the other,drill holes to supply power to fridge.Get new chair (so wont get bed sores quickly),new head phones (so wont wake up Neighbours,parents,dog) and spend 3 months straight of gaming.

Now ony gotta figure out some sort of toliet facilities ;)
 
I'm gonna buy it as soon as i can, then play till i fall asleep on my keyboard!
 
The day I get it, I'm gonna install it, open it, and stare at the main menu whilst drooling on the keyboard. Then, I will clean the keyboard, and go make some food while reading the manual. If I somehow manage to avoid setting the kitchen alight, I'll then go upstairs and play till at least 2am. I will then develop some kind of mystery illness during the night, which will result in me staying home from school (oh noes!). Of course, that will convieniently disappear between 11am and 6pm, while my parents are at work, and I will spend the day basking in the glory of Half-Life 2!
 
I was thinking "duh, I'll play it" but now that I've read more then the title, I'm going to have to go with:

Play it on my LCD project (7' diaganol if you care) crank the details, and enjoy the 5.1 surround sound. My poor roommates. :p
 
Great thing is if it comes out end of may/early june ill have 3 whole months of Holidays in whcih to play it :)
