the thing about these guys is they arent really strong, they are just buff looking. i bet the average male could beat the shit out of any of them. moreover, what they are doing is unnatural because of the powdered shit they take everyday designed just to build muscle but not strength. look at that guys regimine and tell me how natural that is. that guy takes 19 scoops of shit. theres no way these guys would live to be 175 years old.

lol,"powdered shit"?

I assume you are refering to "Muscle-Tech" if that's the case then I totally agree with you,Muscle-tech is responsable for most bodybuilder's gains.I mean the shit is like a miracle formula.Oh,And Creatine,That is making these guys huge too.Along with powdered protein. It should all be banned!

But seriously,Muscle mass means muscle strength basically with the exception of powerlifters. These guys like jay cutler are bodybuilders,Not fighters. But going as far as saying that the average joe could whoop their ass is just insane.
As is going as far as saying that the average joe who bench's 120lbs can outlift these guys. bahaha!

Most/All pro's are able to benchpress over 400lbs,some of them get up as much as 500 or sometimes more.Grasp that for a while.

Diablo,Post some of the pro's max lifts will you?

That makes no sense on so many levels...
These guys are so bulked up and in the greatest shape of any living being, they will live up to 175 years of age. :frown:

Ohh wait, the monkey is confusing a snatch and press with a squat.haha

Just because it's extreme does not make it unnatural. If he were stuffing inplants into his arms and legs to look big, then that's unnatural. But what he does is Naturaly lift weights,Naturaly and naturaly get's big.
It is eveolution, and it is 100% naturaly and ment to happen when you lift weights.

Lifting weights causes muscle hypertrophy,Basically muscle growth. When the body is put under stress, then it responds and builds muscle so that it can easier deal with the stress the next time it happens. All of his muscle is a result of him lifting weights, and his body building the muscle so that it will be easier for him.

There is nothing un natural about it,You are contridicting yourself with saying "he goes into competitions to show everyone just what the absolute maximum of human physical fitness can be".."can be"? You are now saying that it's natural?

The fact is that it is natural,Just because it is extreme or uncommon. It is defenitaly natural.
I consider natural to be what was normal and best for a human living 50 000 years ago, implants and drugs to me are unatural in another sense. I don't think someone with that extreme level of physical fitness would have lasted very long 50 000 years ago, I could be wrong but I don't think those body builders are particularily agile, plus their percent body fat content is dangerously low.

My beliefs and ideas are vastly different from everyone I have ever known so you are right if you are thinking I am a weird person. :p

Oh I also know the basics of body building and how muscles develop since I took 2 years of health and physical fitness classes in highschool. It obviously isn't much but knowing the basics is still more than most people.

read links first nublet. they may be strong, i admit that and i rescind the prior statement about them being weak. i still think its gross. my opinion kthxbye.

I guess then you could go ahead and say that all overweight people are not natural either?

Heaviest Men's +105-kg Snatch Lift
Iran's Hossein Rezazadeh lifted 212.5 kg (468.5 lb) in the men's +105-kg snatch at the 2000 Sydney Olympics on September 26, 2000.

"Snatch Lift". A squat is totally different,I think the squat record is in the thousands right now.A squat is when you put the weight behind your shoulders and SQUAT.

ronnie coleman...the best bodybuilder in the world today.

6x mr olympia !

oh and read his t-shirt

Being overweight means nothing since if you have more than the average amount of muscle for someone of your height you will be overweight but you certainly won't be unhealthy. Its whether you are obese or not that matters, and yes I consider obesity unatural too, in ancient times there was never enough to eat to allow someone to get that way and the amount of excersise people got was much more than the average person gets today.

This thread has gone from weird to disturbing pretty damn fast...

So,"The Mullinator" Have you ever lifted weights?

Is your only purpose to point out to people how "cool" bodybuilding is and that you're better than everybody else for some reason?

Second of all, I doubt there's anyone here who hasn't lifted weights, so don't mock people.

I like muscles but these examples are just way too extreme to be normal. Same thing with breasts, body fat, clothes and etc.

My max for benchpressing was achieved 2 years ago and it was 180 pounds (I havn't worked out in awhile). 15 pull ups close grip, 6 wide grip. 44 pushups in one minute. 45 crunches in one minute. I think 350 pounds on the leg press 5 reps but I can't remember it all that well. 35 pound dumbel curls 12 reps.

Thats just what I can remember, I havn't looked at my fitness portfolio in awhile.

EDIT: Most of the physical training I have done doesn't involve weights. I was the anchor man for my schools relay team a few years ago and I ran the 100 meter sprint in 13.3 seconds or something like that. I am by no means professional and its been a few years since my last competition but I think that was my best time.

bodybuilding is a sport...a sub-culture ...not many ppl know much about it.. what i think dustin is tryin to say is.......is that u guys are the norm and this is bodybuilding and u guys aint got a clue....which is ok but just try to understand .

I have found it to be unfortunate that is a sub-culture though. I suspect a big reason alot of people don't get into it is because of how it is so different from what people are used to. Its always struck me as a very enclosed past-time, hobby, job, whatever it is to you and it is very tough for someone to get into it and then stick with it as a result. They don't handle it very well in school and as a result very few people are introduced to it in a way that would make them truly understand and enjoy it.

Jesus, I'd never want to look like the people in those first posts.

I mean sure, being buff would be awesome, but that shit is disgusting to look at.

(for me at least, I respect your personal views about the subject)

Are you making a joke or not? Because these guys can dress theirself.
When you get that much muscle you aren't flexible enough to do simple tasks, a football player(or some other sport) at my school had the same problem.

WTF is with all the body building picks? You like these guys asses or somethin?
