Do you think that'll be the last we see of Gordon?

I personally think we'll get closure to the events that took place over the last four games (the Combine retreat from Earth) and everything will be all "lol all tied up yay" but then the Gman will be all "k dude cya in another 20 years" and the game will end.

That way Valve could do HL3 or not, because it doesn't really matter. The current story arc will be over and Earth saved etc. but Valve still leave the possibility of another wacky adventure.

The Combine won't retreat, they are cut off.

Furthermore, how do you think these evil weasels conquered the Earth so quickly? They probably have city-sized synthetic spiders and dozens of moon-sized...pufferfish...synths. You'd better hope another portal doesn't get opened.

Unless I'm mistaken, Episode 3 is the end of Gordon's saga. This doesn't mean the end of the Half Life universe- Valve could pick back up with any host of new characters. Personally I think we'll be seeing a flagship title (such as Half Life 3) with several branch titles (such as Portal) that run with new gameplay but with interlocking stories.

Valve just said it's the end of the story arc. Thanks to the Gman that doesn't mean that it's the end of Gordon.

Maybe Half Life 3 could take place from Shepard's point of view? One can only hope.

Why is everyone so obsessed with Shepard? What made him different from Gordon?

I personally think you take away current important characters you take a main essence of Half-Life's brilliance, it will end the story arc, but I can definately see the next story arc involving at least Gordon and Alyx.

The rebels will find a portal leading to the combine world where Gordon gets a gang of aliens the Combine has enslaved and they fight the Comine on their home world

Horrible or good? lol

would be fun to play with another character and work together with gordon. A little bit like we saw in OF but then he talks and helps you. Wouldn't happen though.

I think we will continuing playing with gordon. You can miss Gordon in half-life but cant miss the gman. And im corious what the Gman must do without Gordon in the story

Half-Life 3, I really hope. HL is Valves moneymachine, I hope they dont abandon it.

Half Life 2 episode 3 ends.....Gordon's son is the new hero. That's just my thinking.

Right as there's a dramatic ending and they give away who the Gman is, the world is just going to explode

This is how I see it.
After Episode three, the story arc involving Gordon, Alyx and the other host of characters as well as the combine advisor's grudge with Gordon, will not have a focus anymore.

In the half-life games following Episode Three, the events that took place will of course happened, but not take as much significance, personally I hope to play as a rebel, but time will tell I suppose. Valve talk about how they wanted to show a 'bigger threat'. Episode Three will make us aware of that bigger threat just a bit more. Hopefully in the spin-offs to Episode three, it will get us prepared for some massive space-battles. (if at all possible) but as I said, time will tell.

now i'm not 100% certain, but I've heard that after episode 3, they're making a sitcom on abc family.

I think all of the Combine Advisors will start to multiply or something... and I also think that Gman will tell Gordon who he REALLY is! (Finally -.-)
