I want to see hl2 physics, graphics, and accuracy be top notch

along with more guns and bigger maps, things that they couldn't handle in HL1

No...keep the maps small....keep the same accuracy and keep the same weapons. Also take out shield.

If you want the old CS you should play the old CS. CS:S is a port of CS in its current state.

The shield will probably be 10x better (not better as in "stronger"... I mean implemented better with less exploits) in CS:S than it was in CS. My only complaints about the current shield are that the hit detection in CS is iffy and the Terrorists weren't given any decent anti-shield weapons/items. If they fix the hitboxes and give the T's a molotov or something I'd be fine with it.

Valve will release tools to make it easy to port things over. Expect people to be porting old versions of CS too :)

I wonder what anti-shield weapon they would choose...an rpg maybe? :)

The CS team doesn't release the source code of their game so I doubt you'll be seeing any version of CS on Source other than the one they port officially.

perhaps someone should make "Arcade CS" where arcade cs would be cs 1.3

You can not port something that you don't have. The conversion tools won't convert a HL DLL into HL2 source code. They can port the media (maps, models, sprites, etc... all of which will have to be heavily updated if you want it to be more than mediocre by today's standards)... but unless the CS team wants to either release the old code (no chance... it would cut into their sales if they let people port it over and release it for free) or port it themselves (yeah, sure... more work for the same profit) you will only be seeing cheap CS knock-offs with the same look but different gameplay (and even then it will take them a while to write all of the CS code from scratch).

I'm only going to say this one more time:

The only ported version of CS you will be playing on the Source engine will be a port of CS in its current state. The only way to go back to an older version will be to reinstall HL (or CS retail if you bought that for some strange reason).

EDIT: Wait, was there any CS code in the source code leak?

Dassbaba: I've noticed from a lot of your posts that you're obsessed with the "realism" of CS. Once and for all, try to realize that CS is NOT about realism and was never meant to be. If you want realism more than anything else, then there are other games out there that will make you very happy in that regard. Just to name a few: America's Army, Rainbow Six series, and Ghost Recon. All of these games are much MUCH more realistic than CS because that's how the developers intended them to be. The developers of CS on the other hand wanted to make a game that was FUN first and foremost with very little emphasis on "realism," not the other way around. Anyway, it gets old seeing you bring up how "unrealistic" CS is all the time when everyone knows that already and doesn't care because in fact, most of us actually prefer it that way. This may come as a shock to you but "realism" does not necessarily equal "fun" in games and in many cases just makes things really boring. I invite you to try the other games I've mentioned to satisfy your need for realism, but in any case, I respectfully ask that you stop bitching about the lack of realism in CS. Thanks.

LOL! I'm speechless :E

What I wanna see

I wanna see CZ with better graphics,

CZ news patch v1.2 rocks,

Iraqi human shields, where the terrorists could grab a CT and use him as a shield would be cool. That way, other CT's that shoot him would be TK'ing. Maybe RPG's as well, and an option to use slugs or shot for the shotguns.

Tactical lights could blind people like a flashbang, and you could select between semi auto and pump for the M3.

This would probably ruin the game though, and it's just a dream. Seriously I would like them to make the Glock full auto like it's real life counterpart. Emptying that 20 round magazine in under 2 seconds would be awesome, but would probably give the glock a little more of an advantage over the USP :D

If none of those then, I wouldn't mind them giving us an option to suppress any firearm, not just some of the CT ones.

One of the things I'm looking forward to (besides graphics, physics, etc) is the ability to have larger open areas in maps. The HL engine was pretty limited in that regard, which is why most maps are clusters of rooms and hallways with a few "open" areas.

I would like to see more of the same basically. Updated graphics, some physics (ie. ragdolled death animations and maybe a way to alter the enviroment ex. by throwing some barrels to block one route.), BETTER netcode and hitboxes. It could also be fun to read from lips what someone is saying. It would be fun to shout "I owned you" to the mic and the player could see your models face in his death cam articulating the words :)

cs: Source is Condtion Zero, just with better graphics and all the rest of the cool hl2 stuff

Right, and thanks for giving us a source or, in fact, anything useful ....

But yeah, i'd love for the speech stuff to be in there - and then perhaps people could invest in a good mic instead of expecting people to understand the garbled rubbish they normally spout (in a very pre-teen voice, normally :p)

I hope if you die in game you die in real life. That would be so ****ing cool. Oh and I hope the mouse weighs as much as whatever gun your holding. Also if I'm near a grenade explosion I want my computer to explode!!!

REALISM > FUN

Heh. Psuedo-realism... gotta love that term. CS, to me, is realistic enough to get annoying (blasted rounds and camp-fests) but not realistic enough to be a "tactical simulation" like some rabid fanboys seem to enjoy spouting.

As for the CS:Source port... well, as far as I can see its going to be a near identical engine shift. Then again I'd like to see what CS replacements the mod community can come up with.

MORE weapons! I am so bored of that few models. Also, there shouldn't be 3-4 guns that are used only, like ak-47, m4, mp5, desert eagle and awm. Sooo boring. Better balance.

Better shooting-sounds!

No Bunnyhopping.

I'd like to see some more story driven single player missions as well as vehicle support on larger maps.

Take out all guns except the UMP

Awesome game right there.

Change UMP to Dual Beretta Elites and you have a deal

There hasn't been any bunnyhopping for over a year now and adding more guns will take months of balancing, creating a massive protest by the players.

It's a straight port. No new gear. Apart from updated models and physics etc.

Valve will save that for CS2.

I thought that's what this thread was about ;)

Ok then, I'd like to see the stuff I mentioned above in CS2. :D

i want them to bring impact damage back... as in, when i throw a nade and it hits you in the face, it takes away 10 hp... or if theres some barrels on the bridge above you, i can shoot them down and they fall on you and take away 20 hp or something to that effect. i want to see bullet holes, like in the double doors on aztec, instead of the door shattering after so many bullets, have it just be riddled with holes, holes you can look through and shoot through. i want to see every pistol be able to be dualied for double the cost. dual deagles, usp, glock, or a combo of them. i want them to finally implement gas grenades and gas masks.

on a side note, i think cs needs a velociraptor.

I'd like realistic wall characteristics in CS:source !!!,5.56mm and 7.62mm bullets don't penetrate through concrete walls.House walls, interior walls yes,but with unpredictable results and much less stopping power. That's one thing I have really disliked for years about CS the shooting through walls.

ALSO these 2 weapons would make interesting additions for use with the physics of the HL2 source engine

the SIMON:door-breaching grenade laying around on certain maps(no buying- M4 use only)
http://www.isayeret.com/gear/simon/simon.htm

same with the Wallbuster:Wall Breeching Standoff Munition(no buying-one use,man portable)
http://www.isayeret.com/gear/wallbuster/wallbuster.htm

I shall start e-mailing Jess

i want they take off the zoom delay for awp and scout, i want they reset accuracy in shooting pistols while jumping. but i get bored of cs now, i want a mixture of dod and battlefield. i want ns with better map and better graphics, shit i want too much...

:) To see no hacks. Despite the graphics and physics R63:Ravenshield pwnz0|2e|2's Counter Strike.

I don't want realism in CS, but I would like to see rifle bullets only penetrate wooden crates and doors. If bullets couldn't kill through concrete, stone, brick, ect walls then maybe wallhacks wouldn't be so powerful.

I'd also like to see CS gas grenades and molotiv cocktails to slow advancing shields. I'd also like CS gas grenades to blur vision and have the flash bang make your ears ring for added effect...

I would also like to see sniper rifle crosshairs much more visually dynamic so snipers know exactly when they are the most accurate.

It would also be great if we could shoot the lights out so the NVGs are actually useful.

These suggestions are for gameplay and not anything to do with realism. Most of these features where in global ops (which failed because it was rushed and bugged). GO was supposed to be arcade style and it would have been a great game if the publisher hadn't killed it before it hit the shelves.

news maps!! Isn't anyone else tired of EVERY server playing Dust, Dust2, and Aztec?! Bring back cs_Docks baby!

i agree, a map with CT's trying to blow up a weapons cache of some sort, or use some kind of mission breaching charges to get into a bank. all sorts of interesting things can be adapted. im really getting tired of trying to reason out How and Why multi-national squads of CT's end up in the desert pitted against terrorists with no real background info
