What happened to Alyx at the end?

Do you think that Alyx died from the explosion? Or do you think that the G-man saved her?

(PS: Sorry if this had been posted before...)
 
Mark ladilaw confirmed that she gets hit by a hunk of shrapnel the size of a voltsagon killing her instantly.
 
I heard Biozeminades took her and sacraficed her to King Kong

(Basically all I am saying is this has been posted numourous times with a small amount of humour :))

Don't know. What I do know is that valve likes to make twist in the story line. She might of been teleported to the aliens homeworld in place of Dr Breen :O
 
They made it intetionaly so that you don't know if Alyx and Breen are dead or alive. Curse you they!
 
Personally... I hope she's dead. She's too cliche and didn't add anything to the story. I don't like her much at all. Of-course, she's a bit too popular to just be thrown away, so I'm sure she'll be back.
 
It shows how even moment of glory can change! But who knows happened :p

That's what I was thinking too. It's possible that the teleporter explosion results in the whole top floors of the Citidel to be teleported off the planet. This means Alyx, Breen, Mossman, Eli, and a few thousand combine soldiers could be lost forever; teleported to a place of no return.

At least Kliener, Barney, Dog, Lamaar, Gregori, and even that Odessa Cubbage fellow remain on Earth...to say the least.
 
I just had a thought, what if the explosion got sucked into the portal along with the citadel pieces, which meant that it was the combine world that went boom and now they are all fooked up in certain terms. I mean you try and destroy the portal, but it could have been left open or split unintentially afterwards. I know theres lots of theories people have every day, is this plausable.
/queue people pick this one to pieces?

(btw i believe that for such a big character introduction as Alyx is, as she is like the 2nd biggest person in the game, i refuse to believe she is going to be left out of further games. I think either gman saved them both, or the explosion was taken into the portal (my new theory!)

[SARCASM]HERES THE REAL STORY!!![/SARCASM]

AFTER the explosion! and time goes back, lammar jumps out of NO-WHERE onto alyx's head, she falls into the pit and grabs onto a railing, THEN, DR.BREEN's body flies out from the explosion and crashes into alyx, and she falls some more and lands onto a platform, then a combine soldier commits suicide by throwing a grenade at the ground, causing the platform to collapse THEN, she falls to her death... :rolling:
 
could be anything really. but I bet G-man wil have saved her. She'll wake up not knowing how she got there or where you are and rejoin barny and the gang. That or dog will have been fighting his way up the citadel unbeknownst to us and get there in time to rescue her after G-man puts you back in storage.
 
G-Man wont have saved her because he's not some stupid sentimental fanny.

But she is very skillful with a weapon and may be useful as an agent.
 
The same can be said about any one of the Resistance. He didn't save them.

I doubt there'd be much more of her left than a little bit of fine ash.

G-Man saved her, and will use her in the future to force Gordon Freeman to "delivery" the earth to the G-Man race.
 
G-man will use her for uhh.... he's really not at liberty to say

I'll bet you guys anything that HL3 opens with Alyx standing next to Gordon with her arms raised in the exact same position.

The explosion went upwards and Alyx ran down the citadel really fast as it collapsed.

or she's dead.

or the G-Man saved her.

or she used her EMP tool to fire a blast of EMP at the portal and stop it from expanding.

or she used her superheroe power of flight, which she kept a secret, to fly away from the explosion, along the way she rescued Barney, Dog, Kleiner, Eli and Mossman, etc.
 
Chances are, Gordon's like James Bond. He'll have a new woman in every game/movie.

G-Man showed no compassion at any point during the game to Alyx, so why would he save her? He doesn't seem the type to save someone because they're pretty.

You make a good point, but i think valve built up this new character Alyx to be the main person in the game you 'hang with' and trust and help. Gordon and Alyx team seemed to be pretty tightly woven in HL2. After such a large amount of exposure of her in HL2, with her dad being captured and you going to help her in the citadel, to simply kill her off out the game after building her up so much would be a big mistake i think. I believe we are meant to think she is dead and gone forever, but we'll see her again...just a feeling.

That huge of a time warper + huge explosion = Really Really Really slow time warp for every single person, maybe everyone got caught in the warp and now earth is one slow motion ball.
 
Nahh, gives the game a much more depressing feel, the 'Humans can't ultimately win' feeling that I believe HL2 was designed to capture. She was there only to die, probably.

I too hope Alyx died, she is really stupid. No I wont back myself up... because I dont really know quite why I hate her so much.. she just makes things seem to much like your whatching instead of playing :|
 
No No No all of you have got it wrong.
Alyx gets ransported to the combine world where she finds out that Xen are being controled by a metrocop from earth and Gman is gordon's father and his brother. Also breen has sex with kliener LOLROFLLMAOWTFBBQ
 
all main characters from hl2 are ELIMINATED along with c17 READ THE 2nD/3rd POST ON THIS THREAD!!
 
I'm sure the main characters in hl3 will be plenty more interesting seeing it most likely wont take place in crappy old c17. I personally hope in hl3 Gordon can go where he wants in some waste land not always having to follow the storyline.

Seriously though... Alyx is too cliche. I could do without her in the next game.

Infact, one of the things I liked about HL was that all the NPC's were killable... the only important one was you. (In most cases)
 
So long as Barney Calhoun is there, I'm happy.
 
i agree, the NPC's should've been able to die by your hand, except breen, alyx, and the other main characters.
 
I'm really curious as to how Valve will save Gordon from the explosion, honestly.. what can they cook up?
