They even included interplanetary space travel and the ability to harness scalar wave weapons - it's real next gen gaming
If you look closely at the old files you'll see that they have it set for release in May - next month is May

Minerel said:Bull Goose, FF is a recreation of TFC, TF2 is basically a whole new game. If you see the oringal video's they were planning something quite different than TFC. I completely believe TFC and TF2 will be completely different.
Didn't some guy that visted valve before HL2 was released get to see TF2 but since he was under an NDA.....

Bull Goose Loony said:That's a pretty stupid thing to do, that's like making CS: S some kind of weird futuristic game or something. Why would they do that?
If everDiSTuRbEd said:...Yes, seeing as how Fortress Forever is going off TFC playing, and TF2 will be different+done by VALVe themselves.

I think they have missed the boat to a large extent on a team based online shooter comparable to BF2
woah where'd the aggro come from??? :ODiSTuRbEd said:Yeah well difference between you and a big known gaming company is, that it will most likely sell no matter if BF2 is on the market.
Just keep in mind the TF2 project was started long before anyone thought of making a Battlefield 1942.
Interesting. Can hardly wait for whenever they reveal what all the fuss was about!Newell: I’m not going to say anything about Team Fortress 2.
GI: Awww…that hurts me. (laughs)
Newell: It hurts me too. (laughs)
GI: Well can I at least ask if you would ever do a Source enabled Team Fortress Classic?
Newell: (pause) I’m not going to say anything about Team Fortress right now. I love that game. Everybody at Valve loves that game.
GI: I know those maps better than I could drive around Minneapolis [ed: Where GI is located]. (laughs)
Newell: At some time we should do an article of all the weird things that have happened in Team Fortress development land. There are completely unknown chapters of that history that have not seen the light of day.
