Seems kind of strange, but I've only become a member. I've been watching this forum for a while and there are a fair few things that amaze me and I felt that I had to say something.
I know everyone wants to play the game and wants it as soon as possible. But why the backbiting? Is it really necessary? When it arrives, it arrives. By the sound of it, half of you need to save up for new cards anyway, so what's the problem?
So, it's delayed, big deal, Christ, play Half life, Opposing forces and Blue Shift to get you in the mood, would you rather a slick and graphically correct game or get halfway through and wait for patches and loose half of the graphical appeal?
Why is it that in every post someone inevitably gets flamed. Sorry, but I don't see that as much of a "community". That seems rather sad to me. Isn't a community about people accepting people's point of view and taking a balanced approach? I'm not a follower. I make my decisions based on informed fact.
Let's face facts, it will or won't come out on the 30th. If it doesn't, it will come out later. The end result will be identical. You will play it and you will enjoy it. You will also probably complete the game in a relatively short space of time. Then what will you look to next? Doom 3 isn't out for a while. So when the forums open, will it be the same? Not really worth it, is it? Reminds me of kids that try to get a peek at Santa. Seriously, grow up. In the scheme of things, it really isn't that big a deal is it?
It winds me up that all of these so called pieces of information come out. It's going to be the 30th, no, it will be November, no It's now slated for Feb 2004. Let's face it, Gabe hasn't answered, Vivendi are tight lipped and it's such a big game that they probably won't release a gold date because it would be leaked even more so. Why doesn't everybody calm down the slagging off and backbiting and see what happens? News will filter out, it always does. It will get leaked and it will arrive. Oh and could someone teach some people how to use a spellchecker?
