Would have a price tag of $150 a copy?
Would you still buy it?

Not that i enjoy spending money, but i probably would still get it in the end.

I don't think I would, and there's no chance the game will be that costly..

I'd probably warez0r it or something, I just simply don't have that much money.

If it was a collectors edition with Alyx's backstory and everything yes.
If it was HL2 by itself, I'd probably wait until I could get it cheaper.

(The actual price of the game is something around $120 - $100)

I'd check the reviews first. Er...I'd buy it!

I would not buy it. If they charged $150, no matter if the game was the best in the world (which HL2 will be) I wouldnt buy it cause $150 is rediculous for a game...

yea, $150 is just too much, even for a hardkore collecter edition

and ati wouldn't give free-vouchers away for a game that would cost so much^^

The game would be an utter flop if it cost that much cos short of a few fanatics none would buy it legitimately.

That would be too unrealistic, I can't imagine such thing. I would not buy it.

Neither would I, there is not much that makes me want to warez it, but tripling the price would be, a reason for me.

Oh and stop making stupid topics

I remember Bad Fur Day for the N64 costing like $140...
I did buy Perfect Dark for something like $90

I would for sure.

I'd rob a bank if I had to.

Well considering I preordered the special edition from ebgames, and paid for overnight shipping, Its costing me $95 USD as it is now. And since Ill be buying a second copy over steam for my secondary gaming machine... Ill be spending close to that anyway. Good thing Im hard at work now. Testing the connectivity between our network and halflife2.net :)

no. and any1 who would pay that much needs a life.

its a video game, not the second coming, not your first hump, not the lottery etc...

No, even for a collector's edition. Besides, games will NEVER be over $60 unless they're a collectors or something.

What a stupid question

Not that stupid if you consider how many people are willing to spend that sort of money just to upgrade there systems to be able to play this game, afcourse it would never cost that much, but i bet alot of people would still buy it.

Also a ever larger portion of gamers are full grown adults with jobs , paying $150 for 40 hours of enjoyment is not that strange a concept for those people.
Hell, i could easily spend that sort of money on a good weekend.

I do agree that it would probably be the harcore fans who buy it at first, but i bet most others would start wanting this game so bad (also with all the possible mods in mind) that they would still end up buying it.

If HL2 is anything like HL1, $150 would not be that bad a price ( still gets played 5 years after it's release).
It would depend on if future mods like Counterstrike 2 and TFC2 will be free to download like with the first HL.

Actually the way things are looking now you will already be spending that sort of money just to get those mods that came for free with HL1.

Only if it came with a crowbar and a cage full of live headcrabs. Or a houndeye.

I will buy a pirated version

my country is full of piracy

If worse comes to worse..

I would laugh at Valve for creating such a bad, completely-unmoddable game and selling it at an outrageous price.

If they sell at that price, everybody (including me) would just get it by other means. I'd buy it, crack it and take it back. Serves them right for pricing it that high...

Are they allowed to sell it for that mouch money? Or are there no rules?
