What is Steam Updating?

It just randomely started updating for me, but there isnt any news on a patch, anyone else get this?

i got a 'update news' window when i loaded up my comp just now,but it turned out to be an ad for condition zero :frown:

Maybe it was Vac2, because all my games were at 100%, including the SDK

Do you mean when you just started up steam?(So its connecting)
Well it actually always checks for updates and goes to Connection UserName.
You just dun always see it.

I got it too. It popped up saying "New low price of 14.95" if you buy it from steam. It was in a standard steam window, not some kind of adware or spyware or anything (and why would anything but steam advertise CZ anyway?).

Oh, then I guess it was a planned thing... Not really an "ad", just announcing that they lowered the price.

But they shouldn't send it to people that have already purchased it or HL2. (Giving you CZ for free)
