Can't think of anything recently.

My friend bought a fleshlight, though. It's not dumb, it's just... kinda sad.

How about you?

You're friend bought a what? Wtf does a fleshlight do? Help you explore the canals of your lover? I dont know..thinkin back..halo. All that pron before the whole porntube thing hit..

I bought 3 pairs of Nikes online only to find out that I got ripped off and the shoes were fake. :frown:

lol I bet those were expensive too right? Come to think of it I bought a used book off amazon and got ripped off, when I emailed amazon about it nothin happened. It was only acouple of bucks, but seriously they did nothing obviously.

People who collect shoes are dumb as hell imo. No offense :p

Dumbest purchase for me was probably my new flash drive. I have a 2 gig one already, but I saw a sweet one thats about the size of my pinky from the last knucle to the tip, and its 4 gigs. Had to have it.

Any game that receives tons of PR hype, but when I finally buy the damned thing, it turns out to be crap.(Happened quite often, so no specific game, and too many to be arsed mentioning) Oh, and I'd imagine alot of un-happy Vista owners should fess up and admit Vista was a dumb purchase on this thread as well.

I think im going to get vista as soon as SP1 is out. Ive heard good things from my friend about it (and bad things, but some of the features make it sound worth it.

:( I skateboard so i like to have a couple pairs of shoes at a time for when they rip.The site had an "awesome deal" so i decided to buy and yes that shit did cost a lot of money.

Oh, well I worked with a guy who collected Nike shoes by buying and selling shoes on eBay. He had something like 300 pairs or something ridiculous like that. Sometimes he spend like 200-300 bucks on the "rare" pairs.

A 360 cooling thing, that covered up the A/V cord slot...so it was useless

lol u so dumb pitzy

Well, it was 15 bucks for PC, and I thought, "Maybe I just hate this game because I can't use the controller for it..." and, well, I was wrong :(

*EDIT* Dal, couldn't you just cut it up? Or would that have rendered the product useless?

I spent a crapload on pokemon cards, which could have put to much better use

Doom 3 and Battlefield Vietnam, complete waste of money.
I liked Doom 3. Not the best game ever due to it's lack of replayablility, but certainly not rubbish to me. I guess others would say the same thing about Vista too though (Vista is shite imo). Oh well.:p Rubbish to one person is (probably) gold to another. That's a fact.

the most retarded purchase I made, was making my mom buy me a drum set, to find that I had no interest in them. Besides that, I make good use of everything else i buy, so it was my one of my rare errors. I was sad, but i learned a very good lesson

I bought a book from Scholastic called 100 Science Experiments or something.

How to build a remote controlled vacuum cleaner:

1. Take an old vacuum cleaner and mount it on a board with motors.
2. Research remote control units. <list of search keywords>
3. Assemble your remote controlled vacuum cleaner.

:|

EDIT: And a G.I.Joes Skystriker. That thing was fragile.

Doom 3 and FFX-2 come to mind. "Hey, the original games were good..."

Edit:

You're friend bought a what? Wtf does a fleshlight do? Help you explore the canals of your lover? I dont know..thinkin back..halo. All that pron before the whole porntube thing hit..

Probably NSFW:

Dumbest thing I ever bought? Probably Infinity On High by Fall Out Boy. It's got, I think, just two songs on it that I know and like, but the rest of it is not that great.
I think the dumbest thing my dad ever bought was a video/DVD combo which had no remote How the hell are you supposed to work the DVD player without a remote? You can't even access anything on the menu. But it didn't take long for it to stop working, so we've thrown it away now.
Another thing I've just remembered: the Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban two-disk special edition DVD. I remembered after I bought it that I didn't like the film. I watched it twice and haven't watched it again since.

Probably when I bought a ?7 ($14) snazzy Yo-yo from a corner shop and broke it like 5 minutes later. I must have been 10-11 at the time and was too scared to go back to try and get a refund from the crazy Asian guy who ran the shop. I remember throwing it in a draw in my room and haven't seen it since.

First thing I thought when I read the thread title was my purchase of Guild Wars collectors edition, that thing has collected quite a bit of dust since I played it for maybe a grand total of 3 hours.

You mum. She was shite, not worth anywhere near 10 quid.

I bought a bio textbook for school on ebay only $5 less than the 'used' price at the Uni. bookstore. What made it regretful was that I could've gotten it $50 less from half.com but I didn't bother checking until just after it was too late.

I bought a second generation ipod when they were like 10gb and $400. I still have the damn thing, but every time I look at it I wish I had spent the money some place else.

I bought a T-Shirt that said I <3 RND '07 ... and realised I could only wear it once, without looking like a cheaparse tramp.

I bought a algebra book, thinking it might be useful.

10 euros wasted.
