What is your job?

mechanical engineering student and field assistant

Starbucks.

I work there, and I still dont know why people wait in huge ****ing lines to pay 7 dollars for a cup of coffee.

Or why some assholes have to have their coffee brewed within five minutes of when they order it. Damn picky coffee people. These people dont even tip. Everytime I go to a starbucks I leave like a 10 dollar tip now.

Oh right, dont eat Starbucks pastries. Nine times out of ten theyre past their experation date (which is printed on the plastic wrap they come out of).

Same here! I'm the one that calls everyone's mommies and daddies offering them credit cards they don't need.

Also, occasionally I do other stuff. Like recently I've been handling calls for the IAMS dog food company becuase of the whole recall thing. Quite funny. I was on the phone with one guy for an hour and thirty minutes the other day, and wow was it interesting, hahah.

lol it's a good student job. $9/hour, you don't have to cook or smell like grease when you come home.

but it is extremely stressful when you say the same thing over n over....

i love it when i get people who yell the hell out of you n start swearing at you it's so funny and it's a good change of pace rather than most people who aer just like "no, not interested"
haha

Yeah, its a very easy job, just sit in front of the computer, headset beeps, read, repeat...Then every once in a while there are those funny calls where people just decide to act stupid, its great stuff. I can practically type out the entire script by memory becuase its the same thing, over and over and over and over. Same goes for the IAMS dog food, thing...ask me anything about the stupid dog food recall and I can answer for it for you, and if I can't, I'll put you on hold and transfer you.

Telemarketing is only an easy job in crappy companies with the "throw enough shit at the problem and hope some of it sticks" approach to selling.
Proper sales is one of the hardest jobs there is (and one of the most well paid, too).
