Well? I paid damn good money for it, would be nice if Valve could even give us a time frame. It's possible that they have and I've missed it, I don't pay alot of attention to the HL2 scene anymore, but I did pay for it, so I would love to know when I can play it.

The DoD:S Dev Team were re routed to HL 2 to get it out faster, thus it was slowed down. Now they are at it full speed, but, if you want it now it will be like HL 1 : S..a Direct Port with little Source goodies. They may release the Direct Port Version very early in the new year and add the extra stuff a bit at a time using Steam. This is better than waiting till March/April Then again, they may have extra staff drom the CS and HL2 Teams and it will appear suddenly fully Sauced

Honestly, as said above ^^^^^ you don't want it to turn out like HL:S... Valve may owe you DoD:S, but give them time to make it worth the extra money.

It'll eventually fade, but at first everybody'll do it.

Just give Valve time to actually do some work, Right now they are working on a lot of new content for CS:S, planning Half-Life 3, most likely working on Half-Life 2 expansion packs, and continuing to patch Half-Life 2, Half-Life 2 death match, and Steam.

You have to give them time to work on these things. Also don't be so nasty, none of us know when it is going to be released so Bliink's reply of "when its done" is pretty much the best answer anyone can give right now.

It is tied to Vac 2 ( If Vac 2 is real ) If Vac 2 arrives, all Steam Games will need to use it and thus they will need to be Source. Steam will not have 2 security systems, so when Valve bring out the new one, that is the date when all official Mods will be Source at the latest. And there is a story that says something will arrive late January, but I have said nothing, no sir. I suspect will will get something by late Jan that will have a few fancy bits, as Vac 2 is probably on the fast track at Valve as we type. CS is wide open to abuse right now and the game is getting a lot of bad press over haxzors in Source. Thus, DoD:S is on the xpress to be ready for its release, but not so pretty.

I'd think anywhere from around the end of the year to a few months. Think of how long CSS took to make before they opened up the beta. The official word is "coming soon" which implies through logical necessity that it's release is rapidly approaching and can be expected..well, soon. Any company that can officially make this prediction should and could be willing to make a statement as to what, in general, they mean by "soon"
