What was NOT good in HL1.

For me, only thing that was wrong with Half-Life was indeed Xen.

But personally, I think the game still kicks ass, with Surface Tension being my favorite level. Who wants to create a Source version of the original then?

One thing I didn't like was that game was a little too linear at some points. But obviously that will not be a problem in HL2 with it's massive open areas.

Going back would be so cool. Seeing the 'living' terrain. Like walls that were pulsating or something.
 
Oh. Shame, i liked Xen, at least i thought it had potential. It was like valve slapped it onto the end just to fill out the game. I wonder what these off world places will be like.

The blood sprites! And in the 25 minuted video, where he is hitting the headcrab victum...looks like the kept the original oooogly bloodsprites NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
 
Do i hear...placeholder? They said that a lot of the HL content has been used in place of HL2 stuff while they make the game.
 
Thats quite a clever idea actually... seeing as how they've been tweaking stuff since september 2002.. it's not suprising that some of the HL2 content is still there (also this shows that the two engines are compatable... good news for lazy porters)
