What will Valve do about Episode 3 for console owners?

It's entirely possible that they'll wait another few years and release The Generically Colored Box with Half-Life 2: Episode Three, Half-Life 2: Barney's Day At The Park.

It's unlikely Valve will want to wait another few years, the whole point of Episodic content was to get games out quickly. Although it's still been a couple of years between releases of the current episodes, that's quick for Valve.

Counter-Strike 2? CS:S is just getting big... it's barely started to become the dominant game in the competitive scene. Can I see anywhere where they have announced this game?

As for them releasing another Orange Box, it's not going to happen. Episode 3 will be released by itself onto consoles, plain and simple. To think that the manufacturing costs / distribution costs would outweigh their profits is absolutely ridiculous.

EDIT: Found where they announced it, but from what Gabe said it didn't seem like they were very far along with it.

On GameTrailers TV they visited Valve and said "lol so when is counter strike two coming lol plz" and the guys all said "Uh what since what was that announced... DURRRR"

wouldn't it be nice to think there was going to be another orange box complete with ep3, cs:s, portal 2, L4D, and the third party bm source? being a console owner, i would love to see this

A special edition of Portal is being released on Xbox Live Arcade: it's quite possible we'll see Episode 3 released through that system as well.
