What's animal would make a good synth?

A Possam. One mean basta*d, and thats even before it becomes a synth

Aside from my Chuck Norris abomination, I would consider the Combine to build something akin to a Tarantula. Make it maybe the size of a Crab Synth---Huge, intimidating and deadly.



First of all, there are thin hairs on the Tarantula that can be used as a defense and can cause several reactions if touched (such as severe itching). Now incorpate these into a Combine model and they could be used as a defense against melee weapons, or even bullitts, or even turned into a offensive weapon (shoot out like Flettechettes).

Then, you have the many eyes of this Arachnid. Several of these could be made for many purposes, thermal, X-ray. Etc, the possibilities are endless. Maybe even add a few for lasor shooting P3W P3W P3W. Impossible as it may seem, they can even pick up wind direction and maybe even sound!



Finally, along with their main offensive probably having to be melee unless several mini-guns were added to the sides and under-body. Then along with the Tarantula being cold-blooded...No way you could use thermal sensors to pick it up. (But dosent matter if its a machine, right?).



Overall, I think it would be a great synth. Silent, deadly, and so many modifictions could be added to it to make it the perfect synth. Who knows, maybe even make it able to make Webs and trap rebels. I would enjoy trapping Gordon Freeman and sucking his life fluids from his body!

Ok, more seriously? I'm going to vote for some Giant Isopods as some kind of moving limpet mine. I'll have to think some more.
 
something faster than a hunter, melee attack only, low health, maybe cloaking. It could be used for recon, and hit and run tactics. they would have to run in large packs. so maybe a large cat mountain lion, cheta exe.
 
Hippos. I know, you think hippos wouldn't be that great but they are seriously FREAKIN CRAZY ANIMALS! they kill people all the time with those massive teeth. they'd be a good synth for land battles and for waiting in the water to attack any unfortunate rebel passersby.

ANTLIONS


they could be like all armored up and have massive blades on there legs for slashing rebels, but the combine havent figered out the whole bug bait thing, so they dont know how to modify or remove that sensory gland in the antlions, so when gordan get bug bait he can turn the antlions against the combine!

but seriously a good one would probably be like a platapus, it would the super versitale unit that can walk on land, swim, has good armor and large talons that secrete poison
that would be awsome (and incase anyone diddnet know, the playtupos or however you spell it, has a posioness talon).

Humans would look pretty cool if you did them right, i can imagine some human with chitin's armor on wielding lazors with buzz saws built in a a missile pad in their chests.

Another good animal would be an assasin like synth, like maybe a praying mantis, they could be an ambush like synth but they already got the hunters for that. Or maybe an ostrich. that would be cool as hell.

Already armored, able to retract vulnerable sections, will fight for lettuce.

If I duct tape two turtles together back to back they are unstoppable.
 
How about antlions. Not the antlions from half life but the real animal that the half life antlion gets it's name from.

Nonono, you misunderstand.

Turtles are already kickass you see, but their weakness is that if you flip them over, their toast. Therefore, you duct tape one of them upside down on the other's back, so should he roll over, they're still on the move.

nice, but i would realy like to see a snake synth, or maybe an ant. For the ants, the combine could use them as like a silent killer colony or something, the combine could put them in an area that is heavly infested with rebels, then the ant would sneakily build tunnels underground like that of antlions, and when the anysynths finaly have a colony going they can emerge and wipe out the rebels in the surrounding area, the combine could give the one queen ant some kinda robot/egg producing organ to get the soldiers and workers (the ants will not be as loyal to the combine as the other synths because of the fact that the ants are lead by the queen of the colony, also the combine set the ants "free" out in the wild to hunt the rebels for themselves because the advisors need to focus on getting a signal out to other combine cities).

I know one of them kinda looks like a crab but barely! The next one is gonna be as weird and crazy as the rest
 
Daddy long-legs. They's be like Striders, but way small. You'd need tweezers or feet to destroy them.
 
How about worms, lots and lots of them, and lots. move the ground beneath you with worm power!

Thats a good point but if the combine realy have goten their synths from the bluprints of animals from different planets, then the combine will most likely have an earth animal resembling synth. An besides this is an opinion thread, What Do you think would make a good synth kinda thing.
 
Earth animals are pretty boring. I guess sharks with laserbeams might be good. Bears with bulletproof vests would be sweet.
 
to humans, earth animals are boring to some, but im sure aliens from different universes are like "Holy hell these things breathe oxygen!! thats like mad poisones man". Everyone has their own opinions, even those aliens lol
