Yes...the real ultimate power...mmmmmm...power....

Ninja's all the way

"The Amazing Race" would be so much more entertaining if they added a pack of ninja's to chase the contestants

Holy crap, knights versus Ninjas?
Ninjas would school everyone.
Knights are slow chivalrous horse-soldiers.
And when a person does become a knight, they're usually in their mid 20's and back in the Middle ages, the average life expectancy was 30.
Ninjas would school knights. Period.

I dunno, it would depend on what kind of armor and equipment the knight is using plus his experience and training. A ninja obviously has more dexterity than a knight, but it's kind of hard to get passed all that armor, sword and shield. Ninjas rely on speed and most importantly, stealth. Knights rely on strength, armor, valour, etc. One has more armor and the other; one has more agility than the other. Both rely on extensive training and skill though.

Anyway, I've never liked pajama wearing ninjas. I'm not sure how a knight vs. ninja would turn out. There are so many things to consider and the fact both have completely different roles and operated in different regions / times. Ninjas aren't for war, they're for spying, assassinations, etc. Ninja vs. knight is kind of silly.

One thing I am confident about is a samurai vs. a knight: knight > samurai.

All the Ninja would have to do against a heavily armoured knight is tip him over. Once he trips or falls, he can't get back up. He would be screwed. It takes a long time and help to get a suit of armour on a knight.

They probably aren't faster than a swing of a sword. But their sword is lighter and easier to use.

ninjas can disappear and throw pointy stars at you so they win.

samurai, they gave the Ninjas a whipping and wiped out most of their villagers

Tom Cruise was a samurai, so I vote ninja.
Hahaha. And I remember in the Last Samurai, there was a scene where:
These Ninjas attacked a village and schooled almost everyone except they were killed by Tom Cruise and that other Samurai. The Ninjas did pretty good seeing as the Samurai had Tom Cruise and his friend and a lot of samurai.
The Ninjas would've definetly won if they had Ryu Hayabusa.

Like I said, it depends on how skilled and experience the knight is. Some could get up quick and some couldn't. Some wore less armor and some wore more. Ninja's best method of killing a knight would be to use stealth and use a dagger or short-shord to thrust into a crevice someone in his armor.

This also depends on which time period of knights, too. The earlier period knights wore a lot of chainmail which offered superb protection against slashing and weak thrusts. Later period knights adopted heavier platemail and full plate and either wore chainmail in areas prone to being struck or a light suit of chainmail underneath; all of which was always worn with padded leather, too (that crap had to be uncomfortable). The later periods knights were much more prone to falling over and finding it difficult to get up -- just as you say. What's interesting is that the entire pack of soldiers during WW II weighed more than the armor of knights. Getting up depends more on whether the guy is injured or the climate / terrain (muddy terrain + knights = bad news for knights).

Again, it's really hard to determine. If a ninja were to confront a knight, he'd confront him while the knight in unarmed and unarmored (like at night or somethin') which is exatcly what ninjas excel in and it's their strongest role. Both are masters of certain skills and trades. It really depends on the individual rather than class.

In all, it breaks down like this. Both are different classes with different advantages and disadvantages depending on the circumstances and situation. In a face-to-face fight with both equipped to perform their duty, I'll put my money on the knight. In a stealth situation where the ninja is shadowing the knight and tries to assassinate or kill him swiftly, my money is on the ninja. Both practicaly perfect their fields.

True.

This all reminds me of the movie 'Ronin' for some odd reason... Despite the movie has zip to do with samurai.

Samurai. To be skilled in many things is one thing, but to be extremely skilled in one thing is something else.

LOL you are joking right?

hehe I dont find much romance about war, hara kiri...ect...

in the context i used, romantic does not refer to a candle lit dinner for a two and a bottle of wine :hmph:

example, there are two versions of war. there is the realistic view (blood, guts and violence), and there's the romantic view (honour, courage, bravery). you might want to look up the word romanticise .

Samurais are afraid of ninjas, Samurais have a whole thing about honour. They are afraid of ninjas because the ninjas have no honour, the ninjas are ruthless killers and that is why the Samurai are afraid of the Ninja

Please, nobody post any of that ultimate power shi... NINJAS ARE SO COOL THEY MAKE ME WANT TO CRAP MY PANTS!

Damnit.

Ninjas. Because they could totally flip out and cut your head off.

Ninja's can't do that as it would still be considered murder, a Samurai used to be able to do that and they didn't even need to explain why they did it?

If you offended a Samurai, they could just take their sword, chop your head off, put the sword away, and just explain that the guy had insulted you.

You ask this on the internte!?

I like once saw this ninja like flip out and kill everyone when someone dropped a spoon! so like dont drop your spoons!

DAMNIT. now I need to find that website again and listen to that stupid music they play in the background./DAMNIT

Ninjas have a katana. Samurais are slow, their armour wasn't intended for speed. A ninja doesn't need heavy armour. Their speed makes up for it. Ninjas have more than throwing stars. Kamas, nunchaku, sais and more.

Now I am not saying that "a" ninja never used a Katana, but in general your statement is false.

The samurai sword known as the Katana was general way to expensive for the lower famers wich most ninja clans were. Especialy way to expensive for the Genin(The field agents that acutaly preformed the missions). Aslo the ninja had no attatchements to his "tools", yet the Samurai considered his sword part of his soul.

The ninja most commonly used a short sword worn on the back or in his obi on the side. The short sword was made from a single peice of metal with a pretty decent blade, yet no where near the sharpness of a Katana.

It is true however that ninjas used different tools and weapons, but kamas and sais were also used by samurai. I cant think of the name right now but the Kama with the chain was also used.

It is said that ninjas were walking arsenals. This being that most of the ninjas weapons had several different uses. The short sword itself could contain tools inside of the handle. Also the scabard somtimes had an extra two inches at the bottom to hold powders, more tools, or could be removed to make a breathing tube the ninja could breath through if under water.

The most deadly weapon if the ninja was his ability of deception. Often appearing to be a monk, or some one of high status to enter areas of tight security.

There is a ninja story of a ninja who snuck into a military camp to steal information. After he succeded, he simpley walked out the from gate. Even stopping to curse the guards for falling alseep.

Samurai, I never went for the ninja outfit.

Why does every on get this idea that ninjas are ruthless killers....oh yeah from the movies.

In fact assassination was the least of the jobs. The ninja most often stole information or planted bad information. In fact ninjas did almost everything they could to avoid a death. Death draws to much attention.

And ninjas only killed those who were given instructions to kill by their masters or superiors. Ninjas just didn't kill any one for no reason.

and the samurai most deffenitly did not fear the ninja.

Nunchaku were not used by ninjas, they are a recent invention.

No they aren't.
Nunchakus were, like many Oginawan weapons, where originally farmer weapons.
