of course, however keep in mind there will be more than one squad, so the likely ness of you not being the class you really want to be is low.

we can always work something out.

as for Alan being commander, he called first dibs on it as far as I know.
however knowing what a good chap Alan is, I am sure he wouldn't mind others trying their hand at it once in a while.

the community here at Hl2.net is the friendliest (and coolest for the most part) on the net (one reason I have been here for like 2 years hehe, since the inception!.. well almost)
and that will carry over into our games.... I mean that's why we want a HL2.net clan, we know eachother, we know our natures are good, and we respect eachother.

otherwise why bother hehe. :P

both, at one time or another I am sure.

however we plan to work together initially, perhaps we may test our squad skills against eachother in hl2.net only matches (if we can get the servers), but when not training hopefully we can work as a full on community in-game.
 
It would be cool to take over a small (empty) server. Fill both teams and play for hours, don't know if the mods would like that though, might get banned on a few.
 
I'd like a shot at commander every once and a while :P as well...or when Alan's not there :D

Nah :P Co-Commander here. I work commander when Alan feels like capping some Chinamen and vice versa...how about that :naughty:

EDIT: It looks like you can be commander as ANY kit you want. In the 1hr long vid a guy has the spec ops kit and applies for commander and gets it. He doesn't die or change equip.

cool cool, although technically a commander is a normal soldier (field commander) and he could if he wanted to, run out and cap em at the same time.

edit: yep, I said this AGES AGO, OMFG BF2 NOOB. hehe :)

Yes, the Commander can do their own thing if they want but a good commander will probably hang back as an engineer or something so they can spend as much time as possible directing other soldiers. Having the engineer kit would allow him to repair his own stuff instead of calling in an engineer to do it for him.
 
What's the role with the M203? (M4 w/ grenade launcher attachment.)

As far as I can tell Ops get the C4, but a close range weapon (Like a shotgun or somthing) so there going to need to be more stealthy if there to get up to tanks to blow them, or bridges etc etc.

Assaults are the bread and butter, getting a nice mid range weapon and I would think some grandes.

Not quite, Spec Ops get a rifle as well but it is different. I don't know if it's more accurate than an Assault kit rifle..but my best guess is that the Spec Ops rifle doesn't have full auto, just single shot and maybe burst.

Engineer is the class with the shotgun I think.

Spec Ops is a stealthy class though. They are invis to the enemy commander.
 
Like you said, everybody's gonna try everything but I'll probably spend most of my time as a pilot. None of that Helicopter bullshit, just show me where the F-15/18's are and I'm all set.

The exact opposite. Lemme clear this up. Spec Ops who have C4 get a M4A1 just like the M4 in CS:S, its smaller and has full auto (its the same gun as the dudes in the movie Black Hawk Down). So Spec Ops on top of C4 get the M4A1 which is full auto but much less accurate than the M16.

Engineers get the FABARM (I think thats what its called) shotgun and no one else but engineers get the shotgun.

Assault get the M16 with a 203 attachment, the M16 can shoot single fire or burst fire-it cannot shoot full auto but is much more accurate than the M4. I hope that cleared that up. Its the perfect all around weapon-it works at close range and is great at long range.

Ah. I knew the rifles for the Spec Ops and Assault were different (I guess I didn't say much beyond "rifle" in my post). I just got the firing modes mixed up.

Engineers' shotguns look sweet :)
 
It does look ****in sweet...if only those dutch sons of a bitches used it we could see the anims for it or at least how it shoots but noooooo.

I haven't seen one with the buggy side weapon (besides the machinegun) being used... not that I recall anyway.

I am the mecca of BF2 info... I suck up all the info I can about this game. I love it.

that video was actually the small version of the one I have, but the 22mb was taken down, or at least I can't find it after searching for 10 min heh.
I could upload the bigger one to yousendit or something, but you get the idea from the 11mb I linked earlier.
plus the demo will be out soon enough.

Im looking foward to medic, but only in a good team environment- in a free for all, ill go whatever gets me the most kills the quickest.
 
Probably Spec Ops. As i'm awesome at getting into places no one else can and wreaking havoc. I totally dominate in DoD when i do that. One time i led a complete turn around in a game just by being a general shithead to the opposite team and telling the guys in my team to move. Great game that was.

you can change kits whenever you want.

the kits however are not customizable like in BF:V, here you have a set primary and secondary weapon, with one unlockable per class.
 
I'm just a basic assault troop, I help take the flag, but I suck at defending points

and too unlock it you have too have a certain rank/frag count?
