and too unlock it you have too have a certain rank/frag count?

Once you reach a certain rank its unlocked for you. You can choose what you unlock (So if your a sniper you can unlock a weapon for anouther class).

Its not with frag count I beileve, its points, which include frags but also stuff like medic heals, engineer stuff etc.. at least thats my guess.

If its anything like DC I'll probably be a supporting player when I can. That means defense, anti-air, engineering, and a chopper-lift pilot. I was able to tame the DC helos, so I should do alright on these.

DICE said that with most promotions you get in-game (from various things from rank to flying well etc) you will get the choice to unlock a weapon from 1 of the 7 classes (there are 7 unlockable weapons total, 1 for each class)

It has nothing to do with your frag total, unless of course you get promotions from kills as well.

Haha, and you dont have to be modest to be a squad commander either, so you'll be right! Nah, just joking
Looking foward to support roles- medic, engineer, transport.etc. Good to play a team role in what is obviously going to be a very team oriented game.
