REFORMAT!
I almost reformatted my pc because of one god damned thing. My internet wasn't connecting right after windows update to IE 7 (which didn't even install after the 'plz restart pc for change to take effect', go figure). So I spent hours trying to get the damn thing to work again; from updating my ethernet drivers to disabling the network altogether, I had finally given up hope and reformatting was the only thing left. Then I remembered something, a glimmer of hope known as...SYSTEM RESTORE. It worked, and I'm here talking again

bleh i hate IE7 so damn much
ive never gotten so many popups in my life.
FF ftw totally

screw internet explorer in general - what a clunky crummy browser

Funnily enough the same thing happened to me. I just went into the properties of my network card and turned off the power saving option. It seems like windows had decided it was taking up too much electricity.

Ok this shit happened to me again a few mins ago, and the problem was isolated , and destroyed. It was McAfee's gay ass deciding to update to something that causes this and I recall it updating just before the last time this happened too. I uninstalled the crap and everything is OK again, hopefully permanently.

I use IE7 just fine (that and I'm running Vista, the final release). Btw...McAfee and IE7 don't play nice. At least since last weekish. I use NOD32, but until McAfee updates their software don't run IE7 and that AV at the same time. :D
