As much as I love my pc, there's been little worth playing for the last year or so (other than ET clan matches)

There's always time for some Mario Golf with my mates And Metroid Prime is better than any pc title to come out this year imo (by a mile)

PC - becuase you can upgrade them (sure, you can chip your XBOX etc but it's nowhere near customiseable). I also own a XBOX, it's good for pickup and play games, and games which you can play with other ppl rather than being stuck in a room on your own lkike a hermit

Which is why consoles will always have a place Social gaming is great fun (and no, playing over the interent doesn't count, even if you're on comms )

The only possible reason to pick a console over a PC is for its unique games.. like the only reason I own a GC is cos im a Zelda fanboy but I still think the PC > GC..

And adventures games such as Zelda and Ico. And fighting games (different from the side-scrolling beat-em-ups you mentioned) And games like Crimson Skies, Panzer Dragoon Orta, Ikaruga etc.

Consoles are just as good as PCs, just in seperate genres.

Heh yup, too true. I won't deny have a PC bias, since one of my fav genres is FPS, but the consoles offer so much that it makes no sense to exclude them. Well, unless you are an FPS/RTS only gamer. If that's the case you are limiting yourself, there's alot of cool games in other genres to check out.

Here's my stance...

Graphically and technically, PC is by far the best.

I admit i'm mainly an FPS gamer so I use my PC most often.

But there are just some games which you can just get together with your average joe buddies and just have some fun. So out of all the options on the poll, I'd say PC is the best, but if pc wasnt on that list, it'd be a tie between PS2 and GC, Xbox is just microsofts attempt at taking over the gaming market by taking quality PC games, and giving the xbox more gameplay features (RTCW, Doom3 etc.). PS2 and GC are actual consoles, designed with console games in mind.

Microsoft paying a few big PC game developers to make XBox versions of their games (or, in the case of Halo, completely move the game over to the XBox) does not make the XBox a bad console. Microsoft pretty much had to do that to get a decent market share in preparation for their next, more serious attempt to enter the console arena. The whole purpose of the XBox was to get their foot in the door... and I think it worked.

If there were enough quality pc titles to keep me happy i'd happily go without consoles (they cost an arm and a leg :/) Unfortunately that isn't the case.
