Which is faster the 9600XT or the 9800Pro?

Im not sure if the 9600XT is overclocked enough to outperform the 9800Pro128, (Im not talking about the 9800XT). But if the 9600XT is cheaper the the 9800Pro128, wouldnt it imply that its slower?

The 9800 Pro will be faster, due to the fact it isnt crippled from the start.
However, the 9600XT should end up near the 9700 Pro in performance, which in turn is around 9800 performance, which further in turn is not that far away from 9800 Pro

Its Radeon 9600XT. And yes you will be able to run it fine.

I ordered the 9600XT coz I figured this.. it cost about $220, HL2 will be about $50 and I get it bundled for free, and I can still get about $60 for my old card...

so basically I'm getting a new videocard and HL2 for $110.

well im trading a camcorder that i dont use for a 9700pro this weekend (if my m8 likes the camcorder presumably) and current game benchmarks seem practically identicaal between the 9800/9700 pros (9800 has slight advantage) but has anyone got any info as to how well it will run hl2??
