The Tripods were teribly inefficent. They threw the humans on the ground in order to drain them and there was so much blood in the air, you think they could have a more efficiant method that wouldn't spray the stuff everywhere. They also killed a stupid amount of humans with the heat rays, throwing away resources. Of course whoever designed the Alien ships should have thought about not putting so much explosives on board. But I'll go with the Aliens.
