Who all is upgrading for HL2?

ill be adding a nv40 or r420 to my computer specs. but not for half life 2 (due to the fact i dont know when it will be out until its out, ie sept. 30th), but just for general next gen games coming out

I'll probably upgrade to something +2ghz after HL2 has been released, my current AMD 1800 will bottleneck my radeon 9700 if I don't. All the current games run pretty damn good though, that's why I will try HL2 without upgrading first. Who knows
