I think we have the wrong priorities here.
 
i think gordon, g-man, and combine advisor should be taken off this list and barney added...

I disagree. I found having Alyx around to be genuinely beneficial most of the time in Episode One. She's not just an annoying hanger-on, she's a better teammate than I've ever had in a video game.
 
I don't really want any of these characters to die. If a HL character had to die, I'd want it to be Cubbage. From what I've heard of Magnusson, it might be satisfying to see him die.

Eli should not die he is so kool neither should Kleiner. (Lamarr should though, annoying little headhumper)

I voted Mossman she is the only one up there that I hate.
 
Well she is just not interesting to me. Take into account I have only ever played Half Life 2 and it was only the one time. So I do not know much about her but the first time i Met her in HL2 I immediately didn't like her and the whole betrayal thing and what not.

You're not missing much. She's a flat character, and they're probably not going to give her much development because few people care enough about her to see her developed.

If killing her off will add more development for other characters or add an interesting plot twist, I'd say go for it.
 
Flat? Mossman is one of the the most developed characters. The characters she might be less developed than are Alyx and Breen.

That said, I didn't like her when I first met her either. She might be talking about very interesting things, but the way she was rambling on annoyed me.
 
If not flat, then uninteresting. I thought her betrayal/comes-back-to-the-Resistance story line was boring and even a bit expected. I'm just not a huge Mossman fan. I thought her character was uninspiring and that removing her from the series would not terribly upset me, that's all.
 
Valve could have decided to develop Alyx as a character as much as possible during the timespan of episode 2 so that they can kill her off at the end which would make her death have more of an affect on the players whilst also making sure that she is made as realistic and memorable as possible.
 
You've not put Barney on the list. Anyway, he better not die because he still owes me that beer!

One comment she made in BME that's always bothered me was the line something like, "...it's going to feel a lot more like BM with Gordon around." It just got to me because, she was never employed by BMRF was she? At least not when Gordon was there. Just seemed out of place, she has no basis for comparison to make that comment.
 
Mossman Only character i could vote for, but even then, i don't want anyone to die.

as long as the gameplay and story remain interesting i really dont care if they all die. perhaps on a bus to the 'black mesa class of 98 reunion'

i dont want halflife to turn into a cheesy soap opera.
 
Mossman is arguably one of the most developed and interesting characters in the whole of HL2.
 
I think either Eli or Cubbage :p Mossman gives depth to the game - plus i want to see what the reaction of the rebels is to Mossman's betrayal.
 
I think it'll be magnusson, yeh he is not a major character, yet, but he still is busy at work with Kleiner and Eli, but I think he will be killed in the Strider/combine attack we've heard of at towards the end.
 
Kill a character they have just introduced? Let alone the fact that I'm not sure he'll develop much/any sympathy despite his obvious awesome.
