Deadline - fix the writing to be mirrored correctly and it might look a bit better.
Also I'd say you put some transparency/colour matching on the text, maybe emboss it a tad to fit it with the background.

took its sweet time before anyone posted something that didn't look like it was done by a 3rd grader...

did you make the font yourself? or did you nick it from some place...and I'm not just talking about the splish splash and red lines here...for something like this you'll need to buy the rigths to the font(unless it's provided for free by the original creator) or you could end in trouble for using it.

if you made it yourself...don't get lazy and re-use the "N" but do a different one, the hackjob to remove the splash effect is sloppy.

Well I'm not sure how "serious" this band is, the font was in a free section, but for proper commercial use you'd have to ask I think.

Simplicity FTW. I would've hand-drawn it, but my scanner's broken, so it's in paint.

There's two ways this one could go- this way, with the sort of sloppy, handwriting look, or something more like a rubber stamp.

Firstly, I printed "REN FICTION" in a normal font size. (To be honest I don't remember what font I used.) Then I photocopied it about six times, increasing the size every time. This then distorted the characters. Then I traced them in Illustrator and placed them ONE BY ONE in the layout of my previous attempt.

This is the result:
