Why are we hated in the Arab World?

You are ignorant

And what exactly is not considering other people's point of view? :D

You are racist.

A term too often bandied around, over too little.

Maybe give him reasons why he is incorrect, or answer his questions. Don't just call people ignorant, it only makes it look like you are.

I believe the salient points refuting his argument were brought up by CptnStern and myself.

Sorry, but he is ignorant. And quite probably racist.

Which btw... I despise..

Anyway, There are one hell of alot of hatefull regiemes all over the world. And not all of them are islamic.. suprise suprise!!

Islam for the most part teaches peace. Its just western media that seems to like steriotypeing muslims as terrorists with aks.

This really annoy's me sometimes because some of the nicest people I have ever met have been muslims. One guy I knew called Ayaz bought my brother a small crystal and metal christian cross to show that his family recognised his beliefs.

Dont see that on TV do you!?

al-qaeda are terrorists, murderers and imbeciles, led by a madman.
But you gotta admit it was the CIA which trained them at first, and now it has blown back both in their faces and in the face of most Muslims around the world.

Tottaly disagree

Prepare for a debate. (dont take this personally)
Since the whole september the 11th thing arabs hav been soo stereotyped. :(
If one arab does something bad then all of them get blamed, it is really not fair  cos i am an arab and dont have to resolve things by violence (only in extreme cases) and i dont hav anyhting against most americans or people from the U.K-well apart from the odd one- the only reason that some arabs hate americans is cos of the war in Afganistan, Iraq and Palestine.
I dont think is=ts fair to judge people before you actually know if what you're judging them on is true or not, if u get my drift.
Your question works both ways actually cos what i wanna know is why americans hate arabs so much?

And no it is not in the religion of islam to attack people and then get awarded for it.
Its just a way for terrorists to try and convince theirselves and others that what they're doing is right

Please don't bump old threads. I'll overlook it this time, since it was actually useful :)

Moved.

to whoever started the thread-
i think you have fallen victim of the stereotypical portrayment of muslims and arabs in the media.
since the disaster that struck the world on sep 11, muslims have been feared and misunderstood by a large number of british and american people, which caused a backlash against the western world by muslims.

we have been misinterpreted by so many countries who seem to have the absurd idea that islam encourages violence which is completely ridiculous as the word islam means peace and the qur'an quotes that violence is not the way to resolve any situation. islam does NOT encourage or even accept violence. the reason that so many terrorists in the world are muslims is that they read the word "martyr" in the qur'an and immediately assume that they must get their guns out and prepare for battle.

there is also the fact that racism has taken its toll against muslims since sep 11 and the media are now blowing things way out of proportion and the slightest thing that involves islam or arabs is made into a big story. and there is also the fact that palastinians are fighting because israelites are trying to take over their land, i am not trying toi justify their actions but the battle involves both sides; just as many palastinians have been harmed and israelites. not all muslims HATE the western world (myself included), but the reason that so much violence is linked to them is that they don't like BEING hated which is the general feeling towards them now.

thank you for your thoughts ...we rarely hear from the "other" side of the debate so it's hard to get an insiders viewpoint. Stick around maybe you can help dispell other myths that seem to permeate the politics forum :)

If we leave their country, they will enter ours to kill us. We are not them, and thus we are the enemy.

And it's not only the Saudi's who hate the americans

face it, Americans hate Americans, Saudi's hate Americans, Saudi's hate Saudi's,

stop looking at the race, and start looking at the reason

I can name at least a few dozen people in my direct environment who hate the Americans in some way. That's mostly because the actions in Irak (twice) and Afghanistan. But also because it happens so much that Americans sue fellow Americans for the smallest of things just for money. That doesn't happen a lot where I live...Nothing ever happens where I live...

I have many muslim friends and thier parents have friends in the middle east who love america but cannot come here either because of money issues or tyranny.

The majority of Muslims and members of the Arab world are decent people. A few bad apples, a few radicals. The Western media would lead you to believe there is "hate-hate-hate" Just as Eastern media would lead them to believe there is "hate-hate-hate" in the West.

I think stereotyping might be the thing to blame here.
